helpful advice needed..
Do you remember my posting about the guy that I met at school who took me golfing, to play racquetball, helped me at the gym and beach etc, etc, etc. Well, I had kind of just called it off because I didn't think I was ready to be in a relationship. I just thought that it was too soon to get involved and didn't want to give up my new found freedom. Well, He never really stopped emailing me or sending me little cards and angels in the mail. I broke down about 3 weeks ago and called him. I realized that I did miss the fun things we were doing together and we have kind of started seeing each other again, but working to keep it very slow and non-commital. Here is the part I need help with.
He sent me an invitation, a real one (nice too) asking me to go out on Valentine's Day for a day of fun. I am liking this idea, I have never really spent time with someone who seeks to get out and move and enjoy life and try new things. Keep in mind that he is not really fit and he is a little older than I even, but darn it he does give it all he has and will try anything. The invittion says that it is day of fun doing something I have never done before??? (clueless, but interesting at least)
Now, he is a diabetic. I want to be able to give him some type of Valentine's gift, but I dont want to send the wrong message. So I thought of a nice tin of cookies, but he cant eat sugar. I am looking for a real tried and true chewy-type oatmeal cookie recipe that I can give him. Does that sound like a corny idea? Man, I cant buy the regular run of the mill Valentine's Day gift, like flowers, chocolate or even sexy underwear beause I WONT senf the wrong idea!
First, does anyone have any experience cooking with splenda, and have a recipe? Or can you think of an innovative gift? I thought about a g/c for golfng or racquetball, but he is being very innovative himself...AAAAAAAAAAhhhhh, I need a little help from my friends...

Robin I don't have any experience with splenda nor do I have any recipes....but I wanted to say that I'm thrilled for you! You go and have fun! I'm sure some of the ladies will have some recipes for you, which I think would be a great idea for a gift.
Carolyn uses splenda or equal or something I think, I remember her saying something about it in a post once. Pm her and ask, just in case she's not on today.
You go girl, take all the fun you can squeeze out of the day, you deserve it

I cook with pourable splenda alot. I'd think you could adapt any otmeal cookie recipe just subbing splenda for sugar. Raisins would be a good idea to omit to because of the fructose.
He sounds like a very nice guy!~July 19 saving goal for event $104/$1000

Robin,
I hope you have a great Valentine's Day with him. I had been wondering what had happened when you stopped posting about going out with him.

Glad to hear there is some spice in your life. I think you can sub Spenda in equal amounts for sugar. No matter what you give him, I expect the gift he wants most is just to spend the day with you. Oh I'm so happy for you. Relax and enjoy life a bit.
