Smile Plans for Labor Day weekend?

We're splurging on the gas to go to the lake for our last hoorah of summer. That means fires all around the lakes and putting all our toys away until next season. After this trip we will be staying home unless absolutely necessary.

    What are you doing?

We are doing some much needed projects around the house. We aren't going anywhere, and this house can use a lot of work, trust me.

Hope everyone else has a great weekend!

No plans, will be staying near ddad to see if he needs anything. My brother and dsil are coming in to visit the parents so we'll probably visit with them as well.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

We are having a combination graduation for dd - brother in law is turning 50 party on Sunday. So tommrow I will be cooking all day. We will be eating out tommrow night. Monday we will do something fun but we have not decided what yet. Dh has taken a vacation day on Tuesday to clean out the basement and go to the dump.

Well, before all this happened this week,we were going to my sisters, about a 4-5 hour drive. Now that gas is so high, and she's near the gulf where some places are running out of gas,we cant go and get stranded. I really wanted to go.I havent seen her in several months, and even that was only for a few hours

Steve has a 3 day weekend, unless they ask people to come in.

We'll be doing things around here.Cleaning the pool (which I HATE! lol) mowing the grass, cleaning the vehicles...nothing fun lol

Well, DH is woking all three days now. I had planned on on oing to visi my parents at thei lake home, much like Darlene's, I'm guessing- fires all around, luminaries on the roads, etc. Now because of gas prices and him working, it isn't an option. (He is working at his part-time job now fo two reasons- 1)my on call this weekend basically got "stolen" from me, along with the money I would have made doing it 2)the woman who was supposed to work is our 65 year old friend who just had arthroscopy on her knee. She doesn't need to be working alone in a kids shoe store two days bfore school starts and during tax-free week....)

So, depending on DD, I will be making salsa tomorrow, apple-mint jelly, maybe strawberry-rhubarb jam, and possibly grape jelly as gifts for Christmas.

I plan on doing as much around the house tomorrow and Sunday as I can so I don't have to worry about it right before I go have my surgery and that way Joe, my MIL and Angie don't have to worry about the house either. Then on Monday, Joe is off as am I and the daycare is closed so we are going to spend the day together. That morning we are going to the Ryans Steakhouse that is about 20-30 minutes from and trying the new breakfast bar they have now on weekends and holiday's. Joe's store is going to start it in Oct. so the guy that manages this one said that we could come check it out for free so that Joe can get an idea of what it will be like when his store starts it.

I had today off, and had a very lazy day. I spent a lot of time watching all the news coverage on t.v.

Tomorrow is cleaning and errand day.

Sunday is a family picnic. Then, my mil and her husband are coming for the rest of the weekend.

Staying close to home to conserve gas.
