Question Dad will be turning 75 in a little over a month....

My Dad will be turning 75 on March 12th and Mom mentioned to me the other day that she would like to have a party.

So I need gift ideas (believe me he has everything and anything he could ever think of) and party ideas.

    TIA

No ideas but I think it's wonderful that you and your mom are doing this for him.

I see that your dad is Pisces like me

Just a suggestion. If dad has everything, maybe a "this is your life" type party? You let him be king for the day. Have his very favorite foods and dessert. Invite friends, especially if you can find an old friend he has not seen for a while. Make a blank scrap book that is ready for signing and pictures that you take at the party. Old pictures of your mom and dad, the children, etc. would be in the scrap book also. Each person can write the something special that they remember (they should sign their names) about your dad or just special good wishes on beautiful small post cards, hand made or ordered from www.vistaprint.com because they have good cheap cards. A family member can read what is written and have dad guess who the remembrance is from. At the end of the party he can be presented with a certificate for being "a good husband, father and friend". The rememberance cards and the certificate will be put in the dated scrap book and presented to dad when it is finished.

Something similar was done for me and I loved it. Maybe he would too.

Vannie, I think that is such a great idea.
My guess is that your Dad has a fav chair & loves his tv. Maybe you can all pitch in and get him a tivo or bigger tv or comfy-er chair, or year subscription for movie rentals that come to the door like net flix or blockbuster...

Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns of the Day to your dad Dee.

I thought Vannies' and Darlene's ideas are terrific. Nothing to add but best wishes and have a good party.

Life IS an excuse for a party, and birthdays are the best!
