Just holler if you want recipes for anything. I have several recipes for cooking for 50 or 100 -- or -- I'm sure one of us FVers can find a recipe for something for you.
When my son graduated a few years ago- he had joined the Marines -- so we had the entrance door to the house (we had an open house party) covered in streamers from his HS colors -- and the exit door (back porch) covered in the US Marine colors.
We had 2 cakes -- white cake decorated in HS colors and his senior picture -- chocolate cake decorated in Marine colors and the Marine logo.
Other decorations were pretty simple -- balloons, posters with pictures of him - from birth to graduation.
We hit the dollar store when my dd graduated. Their balloons are cheap, as well as some discounted napkins, table cloths, paper plates. etc. I got a cake from Sam's Club. Seems like it was $13 or $14 for half a sheet cake. I don't remember the price exactly, but it was a lot cheaper than I was expecting. If you don't have a Sam's membership, Walmart has inexpensive cakes too. Punch could be made inexpensively with kool-aid and 2/1.00 walmart/store brand pop. Homemade cream cheese mints.
And by the way, congrats to your dd on her accomplishment!
Sorry I was so vague earlier, and I just got back on from yesterday.....busy, busy----so many excellent ideas, I love them all!!! It will be for about 60-75 people, I do want to do all the cooking, I had thought of just doing the sides and ordering chicken. Yes, it will be warm, hopefully sunny around here, so I am hoping to keep everyone in the yard, but I am sure as the night wears on the will float inside........Thanks for taking time to help me.......
