Oh! Reading this post has made me want to pull up my carpet!

I would so like to get rid of it.......and I have hardwood floors under it........they would need work......but.........hmmmmm....I could wait until next summer to have that done.

For four years every single day I think about ripping up my bedroom carpet. It's UGLY.. But it's just cement underneath and we can't afford to do anything with it so it just has to wait.

We ripped up the carpet in our bedroom and are living with the concrete for now. It was funky berber. The concrete is an improvement! lol

One time I ripped up carpet and thought the plywood under it was an improvement.

We have about 5 rooms to rip it out of when we take possession of our new house. We're planning to go in and do it all before we move in, so we don't have to worry about working around furniture or stuff. Not looking forward to it, it's heavier work than it looks.

We can not stand carpet. We have a split level home and my son's bedroom is on the bottom floor. He is living with a smooth cement floor until we lay his tile. All the rest of the rooms have vinyl flooring or hardwood.

My sister painted the old hardwood flooring at our mother's house with porch paint, it turned very nice. The floor was water damaged very badly. This was a quick fix until our mother got enough money together to replace the floors.

    Good Luck!
