Like a list of wants?
I have huge list and scrapbook of all the things I like that I have seen in magazines or in stores.
I dream big that all this saving and budgeting and sacrificing will one day pay off.
I noticed when looking back on my list that I have got some of the items in the last few years that were on the list. That's encouraging.
What types of household items are on your list that you want?
I am partial to fun kitchen gadgety type appliances. lol
A tin ceiling for my kitchen!! We are closing on our first house next week and it originally had one in the kitchen and upstairs bath- only the bath remains--I've already picked it out, DH is talking about it being my christmas gift.
I don't have a specific list. I do keep a file with ideas I see in magazines that I like. One day when we eventually live somewhere long enough to buy a house, I will pull it all out and organize it.
My wishlist is mostly books, magazine subscriptions, and some videos and cd's (not many of either of those...just a few favorites).
Otherwise...wish lists are basically CHOCOLATE (always), then a new chicken house/pen, and some remodelling on the house (repairs to damaged areas of drywall, paint, fix floors in some rooms (floor coverings that is), paint outside. Someday if we live in a different place, I might like a wood stove (actually I'd LOVE one) but I don't want to get greedy now, lol...a fixed up kitchen would be splendid, but mine gets the job done okay for now....
I have the short term and long term wishlist. I don't consider myself a material person, but I see things I would love to have, so add it to my list. Sometimes, it's a small thing like a book I would like to read.
I make lists for all sorts of things, such as to do lists, don't forget lists, if I had a million dollars list, things I want to do in my life list, etc. Maybe there's a self help group for people like me.
"Hi, my name is Sara, I am post it note and list happy."
My wish list for my house would be:
(notice the word wish)
~shutters and flower boxes for outside windows
~new windows
~a new bathroom (will be doing that this summer which will make my kitchen bigger)
~an island in my kitchen and pantry (will be doing this this summer as well...thank goodness DH is handy!!)
~porch on the front of my house
~garden shed (OK that's outside the house!!)
~a new couch
~area rug for under my kitchen table
Ok, I'm done dreaming now!!
*a ceramic kitchen flooring
*new wooden kitchen cabinets to replace the melamin ones...
*new curtains on all my windows
*new windows(they are old and trap moisture)
*new front door
I have a lot of lists, I like Sara am a listaholic! LMAO.
I have a list for
things I want to make
Things I want to do
Places I want to see/go
Kitchen items
Bath items
Bedroom items
outside stuff
front yard stuff
back yard stuff.
You get the picture! I don't consider myself a material person either, I just want and enjoy the finer things in life (even if it is budgeted for someone elses life) *see my Ya Ya name! LOL
One of these days, I'll be there I may be too old to enjoy it but, at least I'll be able to say "I have that" or "I did that"
***Voodidit** There is a house on the other half of the circle that's for sale!! you should buy that one!
It is funny that this should be a topic. I just made a list last night before I went to sleep of some of the things that I would like to redo in our house. At the top of the list are : new siding, a new roof, new carpet, new washer and dryer, a wooden playset for my boys, and a bunch of the small stuff like repainting and new flooring. Some day I hope to have it all done. But, I have not put any time frame on it. We will do it a little at a time.

It's crazy, but I just feel good making lists. It fills me with hope and just makes me excited about the future. I absolutely love when I misplace a list and find it again and realize that I can check off so many of the things I listed. To me it's the first mini step in making my hopes and dreams a reality.

Top of my wishlist is our dream house! Then of course is land around it. and fruit trees, and a big veggie garden. Inside the house is a craft room all for me. and a seperate garage (detached) for DH's junk/cars/etc. That way MY car can be parked in the garage! of course all the rooms will be tastefully decorated.
Hmmm....maybe i should call this a dream list!

Are you guys kidding???? I could have a list support group of my own! LOL. I have a master list of my lists, and i am serious.
I have a few list books right here by the computer...List of programs i want, list of computer needs, list of groceries, list of to do's, have don'es, to go's, and on and on...each type of list has its own notebook, each category carefully seperated into its own book, and then further sectioned per specific things....lol then cross referenced, accounting style in a master book, LOL LOL! Don't laugh, Dh gives me grief over this anal retentive thing i do. LOL
So from the list of things i want for the house....more notebooks. New floor, hardwood. Shed, Chicken coop, veggie garden, new printer, ink for printers........lol and on and on
and in my dreams....a house in Maine (home) with land in the woods......garden etc....
