My wife was torn between either Oct 1 or after Canadian Thanksgiving as the day to decorate for Halloween. Thanksgiving won out. She has in the past (quite frequently, actually) started decorating for Christmas as soon as the last kid shows up on Halloween. I just let her do her thing lol.

I brought out my Halloween/Fall stuff on the first of October.
"Pumpkin spice" short & fat orange candle on a black wrought iron stand, little ceramic pumpkin-kitty knick-nack from my daughters, tiny boyds bear stuffed teddy bear with Happy Halloween t-shirt from my SIL, trick-or-treat candy dish with mechanical hand that grabs you, candy in the dish. Gold pretty runner for the dining table.
That's it, I display a couple items on the dining table and a couple items on a ledge of stairway.LDR

No and its just killing me! I usually get pumpkins and flowers and a hay bale every year. Oh and gourds. But due to budget cuts here-no. I did talk DH into candy for the trick or treaters. I also sent Ds a huge pkg. at college. My kids are older but I do enjoy the decorating.sigh.

I haven't decorated at all. I used to be into it when I first got married. But in the last few years I really get bummed out from fall through the new year. I just really dread the holidays and all the expectations that come with it. My kids are still little so we have to go through the motions (like spending holidays with family members that drive me nuts. LOL). Does anybody else feel this way? I'm thinking when the kids are grown my husband and I will spend Christmas on a beach somewhere LOL.

We are really into decorating for Halloween this year. Our 18 month old gs is loving the decorations! We haven't done this much since my kids were in middle school.
We decorate for Thanksgiving the first weekend after Halloween. I wish I could decorate more seasonally, there's not enough time.
The day after Thanksgiving we start decorating for Christmas. I leave my Christmas decorations up until mid January. I almost can't bear to take them down.Carrie, ravenmaniac - I love my Ravens!!!!
