Decorating Our Playroom
We have decided to turn our family room into a playroom. We are going to go with a safari theme. Any suggestions? We want to find some colorful prints of wild animals like lions, giraffes, and elephants to hang up on the walls. The kids have a cork board for pictures and artwork, I have that already decorated. We're buying a computer armoire to set in the corner, and getting rid of our large computer desk. The kids have a table and chair set in here and bins for their toys. We're going to be getting another armoire for their tv and a shelving unit to take up a large portion of one wall so all their toys and games can go on it. Any tips on colors or other items we can use for storage.

Look for wrapping paper with a safari theme, or some maps of Africa and decopauge them to the top of the furniture and give it a glass coat of polyurithein. Cover waste cans, boxes whatever in the same..... Use some heads from old stuffed animals like loins and elephants and make trophy heads for the walls, paint tropical looking plants on the walls, hang chains and hang stuffed monkey or snakes from them..... you can even cover the chains or ropes and make them look like vines (if you want I'll tell you how to do this ) .......... Make some African looking masks and sheilds, make a lion rug for the center of the room, just cut out a body, hem, add a tail and head. You can paint animal skin patterns on anything at all, Giraffe and leopard are easy to do...... Make a sign post with signs pointing to different places like Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe, ect.... use it for a coat rack..... Buy some inexpensive safari hats at a local party store and hang them on the wall on a hat rack........... Paint the legs on tables and chairs like animal legs, you could even use some fake fur, paint the table top and add a tail to one side of the table...........

Something like this hamper would be great for storage. Rataan or wicker would work nicely. I'll think for a few and get back to you on some ideas. Mesh netting would be good too. Or a hammock.
Looks great with the sisal rug too.

this is used for a plant, but you could use any container and use it for whatever you wanted.
