Unhappy Chair re-vamp please help me QUICK!

Decorating has started in the new house.

I had to decorate DS room before I moved in as it is SO small it wouldn't have been possible afterwards, and I had to buy him new furniture as his wouldn't fit in here!!!

All through this DD (age 5) has been ill and really good - she hasn't complained ONCE that he has new things and she doesn't yadda yadda. Awww I felt really sorry for her So with the small amount of money I had left I said 'why don't we get you a chair for your desk' (she has a built in desk here with NO chair and she really wants to use it) So......... (Very useful tip of the day) don't EVER ask a 5 year old what they want - tell them what they are getting!!! (I should've learnt this after 5 kids!)

I say 'what colour chair would you like?' Now everybody has seen a chair even a 5 year old! They come in mahogony, black, brown, white etc. She says 'I'd like a yellow, red and silver chair' So after scouring the high street asking shop assistants 'Did you sell out of all your yellow, red and silver chairs or am I just looking in the wrong place?' (NO I didn't REALLY do that - it's just my sarcastic ugly head rearing itself LOL) I went to the thrift shop and bought this: (pic attached)

Now I NEED help QUICKLY PLEASEEEEEEEE - She is going to see this in the morning and I'm thinking that there is something 'missing' or 'wrong' but I can't see what???? This won't be easy as it looks different in the pic!!!

The chair is pale yellow, the red bits have silver glitter on them. (Even though you can't really see any of that and the chair looks cream - it IS yellow!)

So I got the yellow, red and silver chair! (which I am quite proud about ) But there does seem to be something not quite right? (apart from the fact that it's red, yellow and silver and NO ONE in their right mind would have choosen those colours! LOL) I know you ladies are all brilliant and I need some help tonight before she gets up to see it and I'm getting tired now, so I don't want to make it worse!

Thank you girls (((hugs))) sitting with bated breath!

First of all Bev, could you send that beautiful green grass over here? I am sick of looking at the white stuff!!

I love the chair, you have done a terrific job! The only thing I could think of for a little girl, would be maybe a bright cushion. Red, yellow or silver (or what ever you have on hand LOL!)

Good luck, I know she will love it in the morning!

    Thank you Diana

I do have some more of the silver fabric I covered the seat pad in, do you think that would be ok or a bit too much?

It's a shame the pic isn't how it really is! Some of the lines are a bit wonky and the bits on the horizontal are hearts (they are on the back and side legs too) I'm thinking maybe I should outline them in black or something??? to make them stand out more???

Oh why did I start this LOL

    Heather you are too kind!

If you'd have only heard me earlier going WHAT COLOUR!!!! LOL.

I don't mind someone saying 'actually I hate it!' LOL.

I'm not trying to show off, I'm really worried that something just isn't quite 'happening' with it!!! Maybe I've looked at it for too long - Maybe I'm still in shock! LOL

Personally, I really DO like it and doesn't think it needs anything! I will admit this now to you....I guess I read your post first and was looking at the chair (unfinished) and you hadn't posted the finished one yet and for the life of me couldn't figure out where all the colour was and what you were talking about.....I looked and looked and finally went out and back in and lo and behold you had posted the finished product!!

Bev, I didn't see the finished product either when I posted! That is why I suggested a cushion!!

I think the chair is great!! And no, I wouldn't outline the hearts, they are very visable. Remember, less is more! You have done a terrific job and your little one is going to love it!!

You're right, I think you have been staring at it for too long, it is perfect!

Now go to bed and get some rest!

    ROFL!!!!!

I guess if you didn't see the chair painted it would be quite confusing (still LMAO!)

You must have thought that I was even madder than I really am!

That is so funny - Even though I'm knackered that has definately bought a smile to my face!

    I LOVE you ladies. xxxxx

It's exactly what she asked for, don't touch it. If there's any changing that's needed I'm sure she'll say something about it.
