Uuuuuugly Kitchen...HELP!
This room was completely destroyed by the previous tenant, the owner's dd who for some reason decided she wanted the sink moved from under the window to it's present location before she chose to paint the cabinets. Aaaaaaack!
This room is extremely ugly. I don't care what happens in here, it can't possibly get any worse. I do have to get the paint off the cabinet doors though. Dh is set on white walls for some reason, and blue to blend in with what the bathroom will be like.
This is the south wall leading into the bathroom.

Those were dd's toys on the floor, she can empty a toy box faster than I can fill one up!
This is the north side, where the sink USED to be. There is a mini blind over the window, Dh found it in Menard's parking lot one day!

I'm not sure what all you are looking for but here goes my two cents

For some reason I picture like a pastel lime green paint on the walls, with a yellowish/creamy trim.
Red chili pepper lights hung around, with maybe some pictures hung that match the chili pepper theme.. maybe some corn husks that could match the creamy trim...
Although looking at the stove and clock, maybe just white walls, with a red or black trim? Then maybe do a black/red/white checkered 'back splash' above the stove area? Or do a trim by painting on card's using red white and black (got that idea looking at your award box)
hmmm can ya tell i'm in a funky mood right now
Not sure about the cabinets, but man I should start posting some pics of my own
Ours is rather nasty with the counter tops rotted it's so bad

And the west side... see what she did! Please excuse my mess, at least the dishes are done! Don't you all feel good about your kitchens now?

I'd love to do something besides blue or brown. The carpet is dark brown and you can see the dark paneling in my photo. Yuk. We've got so much blue stuff that we can't afford to replace, so blue and white is it. And with the bathroom door right there...... hope nobody's coming out when you are in the fridge, or pull a drawer open and "lock" em in first, lol

Again I don't really know what you would like to do in your kitchen? But if it was mine I would have washed the doors to brighten them up and 'open' it all, and to match the bathroom (if you do that?) However having said that, now the cuboards have been started I couldn't face removing it all - I hate preparation! LOL. So I would continue and paint them all white, all over. It will make the kitchen much lighter and I personally can't stand dark spaces they feed my depression.
The wallls would then look nice pale yellow, which would still go with the bathroom (?) but pale blue would be nice too and would make it all very uniform.
I think it could look really nice.
Just a thought - in my front room, where I'm doing 'seaside' it opens straight into a dinning room and I'm thinking of doing 'garden theme' in there??? I don't think the rooms have to match exactly as long as they sit comfortably together and don't 'fight'. But you could carry on the seaside theme nicely, especially if you have blue & white things already (so do I) So my suggestion would be finish the cuboards all in white and paint the walls pale blue. You could maybe finish off with a blue and white rug to cover some of the floor. Or see what's under the carpet and maybe take it up?
Good Luck and remember to show us it again when it's finished!

Well, I'm thinking paint the cabinets white and also paint the handles and drawer pulls white(spray paint would probably hold up pretty good on the handles). The walls a nice medium blue, a blue and white gingham curtain pouff at the window. And either stencil or a wallpaper border up near the ceiling with white, blue, and another color (red or a burgundy would be nice, and then you could pull in some red or burgundy accessories like a throw rug or some knick-knack items, hand towel, etc). I would also paint the ceiling white to brighten it up even more.
Or I've seen some really pretty sunflower print fabric with a blue background, it would make a pretty curtain. And a sunflower border or stencil in the same colors and a yellow throw rug. Just my 2 cents, lol. Please post pics after you get it all fixed up!

Sunflowers would be great! I've never seen them with blue. It's going to be a while before we can do it, but with the Kmart closing I may be able to get paint etc for less and have some extra $ for accessories!

Walmart used to have the sunflower fabric, not sure if they still do or not, I haven't been in their fabric department for a while.

Have you seen anything done in red and white? I saw a picture in family circle a couple of months ago and they did a kitchen in red and white. It was gorgeous. The red was warm and inviting and easy to wwork with. Jusat like I always say tho. No matter what color you choose. its only paint.
