Thumbs up tag sale makeovers ;o)

i was just looking through one of my woman's day magazines and found this neat article! i am going to type it just as they have it in the book. too bad i can't add the pictures. very neat ideas!!

    ***OUTDOOR DINING SETS:
can be a great buy even if you don't have a deck or patio. sand and paint them a pale color, then use them to give a light airy look to indoor dining areas. single pieces--a bench or a lone chair--can strike a fresh note in other rooms. search for inexpensive pedestals, too; they're perfect for displaying plants or other tag-sale finds.

    ***SNIPPETS OF LACE:
and vintage fabrics can inspire all sorts of attractive projects. wrap scraps around a purchased wreath (or make one from foam or cardboard) to create a pretty wall hanging. wind ribbon around the wreath and decorate with strands of old beads, or use it to display jewelry: it's a natural for pins and you can clip earrings to the ribbon.

    ***HANG A VINTAGE QUILT:
canopy-style to add color and romance to any bed. simply gather at one end, secure with twine and attach to wall with sturdy picture hooks. add a generous bow and drape the quilt to match the width of the bed. a cast off chair, sanded and painted robin's egg blue, makes a practical stand-in for a bedside table, especially if space is tight.

    ***A FLUFFY, FRINGED:
chenille bedspread might strike you as old-fashioned in the bedroom, but it can add a lot of lush retro charm to a bath. simply sew or clip on hanging rings and use with a clear plastic liner.

Some really neat idea there. Thanks for sharing those. I love the idea with lace and have found lace to make a wonderful addition to many things in my home. REally puts a pretty touch to everything.

great ideas Misty, ooh how I wish I had a vintage quilt to hang as a canopy! I also love the chenille look. I always watch the thrift stores for them, very old fashioned and lovely, thanks for the great ideas.
