Summertime Decorating Ideas!

Ideas to bring the outdoors in and to lighten up your decor:

~~display fresh flowers to brighten up a room.

~~remove heavy curtains and replace with thin sheers or lace panels.

~~break out the floral sheets, shams and throw pillows.

~~hang a summery wreath on your front door//wreath or a tin wall pocket filled with artificial flowers.

~~baskets-fill with fruit and vegetables for wonderful centerpieces, use baskets for books, one for sun tan lotions, bug sprays etc.

~~use rag rugs at your front and back door, just throw in wash to clean

~~use white Christmas light to add magic year round, add to a swag or large house plant. ((I have mini lights on a medium size twig tree that I leave up year round, just add Christmasy things at Christmas time.)

~~use small jelly jars as candle holders.

Some more ideas-

~clean out your fireplace and set a floral arrangement or hinged wooden screen in front of it

~grow herbs in small pots on your windowsill

~bring out pictures from previous vacations and display them

~if you are taking a trip to the beach bring back some pretty stones and sea shells and display them in a clear vase

~change tablecloths or runners to summery colours/fabrics on your table and bedside tables
