ISO: Catalogs and websites for decorating.
I am trying to work towards a certain look for my house. I would love people to walk in and see the furniture and curtains and things not be able to tell if they had been 3 months or 300 years. I want a classical new england island look. Anyway does naybody know of any websites to help maybe with catalogs to order or sneak frugal ideas from? TIA

Try www.thecountryhouse.com, they have some antiqued things. Some of their things are high, but they have some good ideas.

Jeanna I can't get the link to work. Sara, that's not quite what I am looking for. Have you ever seen the movie Practical Magic? I love the look of the inside of that house.

Here are just some of the many links I found. I went to google and put in new england decorating or decorating new england (if you play around with the words you will get different sites). All kinds of neat things came up like magazines, catalogs, how-to's, etc. Good luck to you....can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Sorry about the link. Just leave off the period at the end. I wasn't thinking when I finished the link and put the period there.

Hmmm, not sure if this is your look, but my favorite curtain source:
http://www.countrycurtains.com
They have more than "country" looks, BTW. They're based in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
