has anyone made a headboard?
We don't have a headboard.
I have considered making one. Has anyone made one? How many don't have one at all?
Someday, I hope to have a real and complete bedroom set.
(maybe I ought to chill out with the flags dreams) lol
Our bed was on the floor a few months ago. (whole new meaning to rolling out of bed.

I've never made one but my Dad made a lovely one once out of a tapestry.
For years I didn't have a bed! - Just a matress on the floor.
I have one now and I really hate it, it's very uncomfortable, I'd rather sleep on the sofa now and I waited ages for a bed LOL.

I made ours....
Not that it'll ever be in BH&G or anything.....
When we got married we had a cheesy bedframe with the boxspring & mattress set....after 3 times of moving a 4X8 sheet of ½ plywood and never knowing why or what to do with it, I decided to transform it into a much coveted headboard....
All I did - basically - was aquire some cotton batting from a quilting friend of mine (thanks Cindy!), stretched & layered it over the face and about 4 inches of "wrap" around the back and tacked it to the wood...after it got thick and "squishy" I took some fabric that I just *knew* I would love forever (yeah, right!) and wrapped and tacked around the back in the same manner.....to dress up the front, I used some fancy upholstering tacks on the front to give it a "quilted" effect.....
Fast forward a bit......I now despise the fabric I chose...rather than undo the whole thing, I bought a coordinating twin size fitted sheet that matches my sheets and stretched over the whole thing! I've lost the quilted look, but I like the "coordinating" aspect of it! When my room was done in my safari bent, I had leopard sheet (GW said I was a freak!!) now that I'm going with the "Chesapeake Bay" motif, the sheet is navy blue and goes great with my lighthouse comforter!
Guess you didn't want a novel, huh?!
FWIW ~

I have thought many times about doing one..... It's one way to pull together a mixed set....... I have a big kace bedspread draped on the wall. Pulled togther at the top and flared or draped out to the sides of the bed. Like a canopy (sort of)
