What color area rug...

...would you put with this couch? The picture is a little bluer than my couch, but it's pretty much accurate.

I have hardwood floors and lots of oak in the room.

What about cream?? I like natural colors with hardwood flooring. Or maybe something dark, like a brown. I am not so good with choosing colors. But I like the naturals.

I like those colors too, Melissa, but a cream rug would stay cream for all of about 5 min in this house

I am redoing that room, so the walls will be repainted as well as new curtains. There aren't any other colors in the room now as those are going to change and don't need to be considered.

Personally I'd go with a multi colored persian looking rug, if you like that style Michelle. Maybe with a dark-ish background like dark khaki or something like that.

I am not sure your decorating tastes. If you like country, I would go with a braided rug like Carloyn said. If you are more modern I have seen a rug with multi colored squares that has the same sort of blue in it.
