What type of flooring do you prefer...?

Do you prefer carpeting or hardwood, tile or vinyl flooring? I have carpeting through out my house except for the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. I have vinyl in those rooms. I would love to have hardwood or maybe a one of the new hardwood laminates that are so popular right now. What about you, what do you prefer?

Hardwood flooring is my absolute favorite flooring. Unfortunately I don't have any hardwood flooring in my home. It has rug everywhere except in the kitchen and bathroom.

I so want hardwood flooring and then have nice braided wool rugs in certain rooms.

mmm if money was no object, I'd go for hardwood, but when the carpet dies, we will likely do laminate.

we have carpet in all the bedrooms,vinyl in laundry and baths and pergo laminate in the halls,kitchen and living room. It's nice but heck to keep clean. When we get extra money the laminate in the living room is coming up and carpet is going back down. I'd love to have some berber carpet in here....

We have all tile except for the bedrooms and I love how cool it keeps the house. Depending on the type though, it can be a bear to keep clean.

I love the look of hardwood, but don't know how well that would do with 3 dogs.

My fave is terrazzo flooring. I love how it looks in a house.

married a flooring guy, he does mostly hardwood, so guess what we have in our house??

carpet and vinyl. i hate it.

I would like to have hardwood in all rooms except bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry. those rooms i want tile. I like area rugs but not wall to wall.

You mean no one has picked good ole SHAG carpet as a favorite, LOL. I hear it is making a comeback

Dh and I put hardwood floors in our kitchen and dining room and ceramic tile in the bathrooms, laundry room and water heater closet. We have carpet everywhere else and I hate it. I would like to put hardwood floors in the areas we have carpet.

I'd love to have all hardwood....right now it's all VCT with the area rugs we've purchased scattered hither & yon.....one of these days though, I won't live in Government Quarters....

We have hardwood floors and I hate them!! I'd much rather have carpet. I miss vaccuuming! LOL

We have ceramic tiles throughout the house-every room! Easy to vacuum and clean! Love hardwood floors but not so practical I don't think!

I want hardwood floors!!! I grew up with them and want some too!!

Right now we have vinyl tiles and carpet. When we decide to remove the carpet in the living room, we are thinking of putting in hardwood floors.

That is my summer goal!

We have carpet everywhere but the kitchen and the extra bathroom which we don't use.

Don't get me wrong I love soft plush carpet, but with indoor animals it is awful. I do know that when we move or get our own place I do not want carpet in any of the bathrooms.

I'd like hardwood floors in every room and have some nice large rugs but DH says he wants thick carpet so If I ever kick him out of the bedroom he will have something soft to sleep on. (I guess he doesn't plan on have a sofa...lol)
