Default what's the most embarrassing thing about your home?

    I have many. lol Really!

One embarrassing thing is that our fireplace is causing a burnt ash smell. I have no idea why. The flu (is that spelled right? :toothy) is closed, but it always smells when it rains. ugh

Another embarrassing thing is our bathrooms. The light fixtures I've posted on HG and they are really OLD, but not so old that they have come back into style. lol Remember that poodle pink color from the 50's? That's the color scheme in one of our bathrooms. :gag:

Our backdoor screen is ripped and we haven't repaired it yet and we need new gutters badly.

Ummm let's see...our fence that dh and my fil built 4 yrs ago and never finished (no endcaps, no gate to the front, etc).

The fact that the previous owner loved pink and painted ALL the walls in every room this pinkish/white color AND put a nearly fuschia colored rug in just one room downstairs and all throughout the upstairs (minus the bathroom).

I think that's it for now...

My bathroom, which is so tiny you can barely move in it.

The pink and green I had everywhere in my house when we first moved in. I still have green in the bathroom and the pink inside the kitchen cupboards. There must have been a run on pink and green paint at the time the original owner painted. Green is my favorite color, but this green is something else!!!

My back porch - it always looks messy.

The clutter--- it's awful, and I never seem to get ahead of it. Lori has seen it first hand, it's bad.

Other than that--- the mold on the back porch walls that I never seem to totally eliminate, the tiny bathroom with the weird tub/shower that my FIL installed. . . . .

Our overgrown back fence row-- which is supposed to get thinned out this week, whenever DH's cousin shows up (he has a lawn business). It's a mess back there.

Also our master bath- the 70's green toilet and shower tile are bad enough, but the carpet is practically antique and stained and never looks clean no matter what we do to it.

Oh, and my dead hanging baskets out front (yes, already ). I think I must've missed a frost night and killed them off already- I just haven't had the heart to get rid of them so soon after hanging them!

    Our bathroom!!

The tiles are circa 50's and its that peach and brown combo...ughhh!!

One day I'm going to get the nerve up to just paint it all white with tile paint and have a plain "boring" bathroom!

Embarassing, nothing really. There are things that I don't like...OK how about our basement. It's damp and really, really dusty down there. Next rainy day I'll go down and vacuem.
So wish I had a nice basement you can stand up staight in(all parts of it) and that didn't have any water. We get a lot of runoff from the hill behind our house and have drainage through our basement, runs out of the basement and down to to the creek. Spring is the worst when the snow thaws and the rain comes.

Clutter here. 5 people in 1800 square feet and we all love books. Paper seems to multipy and have lives of its own.

My old carpet (at least 12 yrs. old now....but it's days are numbered ), the warped floor in the laundry room and our office which is partially unfinished. (ugh) You wouldn't notice the floor in the laundry room but I know it's there from when the washer backed up bad once. It's the subfloor and can be easily repaired when we replace the vinyl with tile.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

Our gutter badly needs replacing and the backyard certainly could do with a tidy!

Besides dh? I'm getting the clutter under control, so that's not as big of an embarassment. We're renting and only have control over so much of the ugliness. I don't like that it's so dark in here; dark walls, dark carpet and no sun through the windows because of all the trees.

Our basement always has a musty smell, even though its spotless-it still smells. It drives me CRAZY!
