Arrow What's the most unusual item in your home?

I guess mine would have to be my art deco lamp or my elephant stand. *LOL* They draw the most attention. The lamp is an outline of a woman in a Y pose sorta. *LOL*
What unusual items are at your place?

People always ask alot of questions about my cow's head. Its a white ceramic cow head that hangs on the wall over my kitchen sink. Its totally white with these real looking eyes. Its not the trendy cows that people were collecting for a while. This one looks real. I have had it for about 20 years and its different for sure. It has no meaning or significance for me, I just like it.

One of the most unusual things in my house is the "paranna head".

My in-laws caught it on a trip to the Amazon. My dh and ds built a little stand for the head and dipped it in polyurethane so it would not deteriorate anymore. It is cool and we always get comments on it.

LOL, I think you all have me beat! The wierdest thing I think I have is outside...it's a metal sculpture made of recycled old metal junk...shovels, plow parts, etc etc. I say it's a turkey. My 7 year old says it's a Pteradactyl. DH says it's plain junk and should go. LOL.

I also have a cd rack that's in the shape of a giant lizard...unfortunately I don't have space for it now...but I'm not getting rid of it! It's stored away....

Oh! We have a coffee can full of bones....animal bones that my grandparents find on their farm...some are from deer, one is a kitten skull! (poor kitty!) We are saving them for science material when ds is older (we homeschool). I'd rather use these than dissect (ew).

Ummm. . . my mandela maybe? Lots of people ask about it- Native American object that is to invite in good spirits and keep out bad.

Most of my Native American things, people think are weird. My smudge pot and smudge, my medicine bag, and so forth.

Gosh, I don't think we have anything that would really be considered weird. The only thing I can think of is this huge fur wallhanging of a unicorn that was given to us as a gift when ds was born by his honorary godmother. We don't have it hanging up, but I was actually thinking of hanging it on the wall in the spare bedroom above my craft table. It's actually quite pretty though I'm not fond of the fact that it's made out of fur.

I don't have anything truly freaky out right now, but I do have a big rooster lamp that my godmother made for my greatgrandmother about 40 years ago, I keep threatening to bring it out.

I might just win this one.

I have a carved wooden end table in the shape of a moose. lol It is about 2 1/2 feet tall I would say and is shaped like a moose sitting. It has a glass top resting on its antlers. My mom made it for my b-day a few years ago.

I also have a wooden carved bear (approx 2 feet tall) on my front porch that holds a "welcome" sign. Another gift from mom.

And last but not least I have a wooden carved "Santa" bear that is approx 1 1/5 feet tall. It is a sitting bear wearing a santa coat and hat. It lives in the attic unless it is Christmas time. lol

I guess I just like strange things because I have several items in my house that are rather odd. I have an antique pea splitter in my living room. You sit on it and feed the peas through a funnel and turn the wheel and it splits the peas. I also am ashamed to admit that I have an alligator's head and a kangaroos leg that I bought on trips to New Orleans and Australia. I am a great animal lover so, I have no idea why I bought those things!

We have a big ivory elphants tusk worth $$$$$ from mil's antique shoppe. It just sits out on the fireplace mantle as a display. But people always like to hold it and look at it when they come over.

We have thousands of books. Most people comment on that when they're in our house. We also have DH's roll top desk. It was his grandfather's and he's the third generation now to have it.

We used to have a set of vintage theater seats that everyone loved!
