I love shabby chic because
You can mix and match any and all of your furniture and accessories.
You can find very inexpensive items to paint or leave as is for your home.
It's easy and fun to do.

Lisa,
I've been decorating in the Shabby Chic style for years now!!
I can only do little by little, but that's the style I love for my house. I just purchased a "cheap, knock off" chandelier last week, but I love it. It has 3 arms with lights, hanging "crystals" and beads in clear, pink & sage. Now this is where the cheap comes in, they crystals and beads are plastic, but I'll tell ya, it still looks great. Then I bought 3 chandelier shades from Rachel Ashwell's line that she has at Target!
But most of my house is decorated shabby chic.
I love going to yard sales & flea markets to find items.

Lisa, was it you ages ago that posted a simple house link, it was shabby chic, like a white hut. I can't remember exactly what it was called (which would help!) But I had that link for AGES then my PC started going wrong and I lost it (and the PC LOL)

I'd like to learn more. What does 'shabby chic' mean? Where do you read about it? I keep seeing things on ebay listed as 'shabby chic.'
Overall, it seems like an old-fashioned, cottage style. But chandeliers?2012 Knitting in progress

Just google "shabby chic" that's what I do. Also look up Rachel Ashwell. She has written some books on the style and has a t.v. show regarding it.
The style actually takes old, worn things and uses them in a very stylish, tasteful manner.

I love this style! My whole house is done in it. It sounds so much better than "electic thrift and garage sale style"
