    Default Whats your Kitchen decor?

I dont think my kitchen has a "theme". My cabinets are oak, appliances are all white except the microwave..it's black,my counters are hunter green, valances on the window are hunter green and tan checked (or some may say gingham)floor is oak pergo and I have 2 hunter green rugs(One in front of the sink, the other in front of the stove) and the decoration things I have are old scales,an old egg basket, potted plants, blue canning jars and I have a few of the Mary's Moo Moos on a hunter green shelf hanging on the wall.
I also have a china cabinet...holds my old pyrex bowls, cookbooks, napkins, tablecloths, placemats etc...
Hanging on the wall is some old muffin pans, rug beater, metal colander,a quilted sign that says "Primitive Blessings",a round oak clock, and a red and white checked plate that says" A Good Mother makes a happy home" that belonged to Steve's mom.

I guess all my decor is just "old stuff"

    Tell me about your kitchen....

We have a kitchen/diner when you first enter it's the dining bit so we have a small red table with 2 red chairs. there is also a large cupboard that houses the washing machine and pet supplies.

There's then a step up into the kitchen we didn't choose any of the decor in here but it's a good kitchen and not worth replacing just for the sake of fashion. It is fully fitted so no appliances on display. The units are oak and are in a traditional country kitchen style with wrought iron handles. The worksurfaces are beige and I have a big wooden butchers block for chopping.

The walls are tiled floor to ceiling in beige some of which have pictures of herbs on, there is beige vinyl flooring throughout. To customise it we have some old biscuit and sweet tins and some guinness merchandise, trays, postcards etc which live on one of the window sills. We have lots of red and beige buckets and tins to store eggs, potatoes etc and some red scales. I made the blinds for the biggest window from an orange and red tablecloth. On the window sill of the biggest window I have lots of old spinning tops in bright colours that catch the light and look cool.

Our "breakfast area" is the only bit that's a little out of place as our kettle, toaster and expresso machine are all black and chrome, but as they're away from everything else it's not too bad.

So as with the rest of my house apart from the bathroom the theme is pretty much "cram as much red stuff in as possible" if I had to give it a title!
