    Smile Inexpensive curtain rods

My dd Nicole is moving into her new apartment for good next Sunday. In her livingroom she has a big patio door and also a very wide (96") window. She bought tab curtains and they really need the straight rod with the decorative end on them. Lowest price we could find was about $25 per window and that was just too much. Today we went to the hardware store & picked up narrow pvc pipe, end caps for the pipe & hook & eye hardware(3 for each window using one in the middle for extra support). Were going to spray paint it all. These won't be very heavy curtains so it should work nicely, if they were heavier the pipe might bend too much.

    pvc pipe~$2.78

    caps~.76ΒΆ

    hooks~$1.56                                     So for a little over $5 + paint we're all set

Good idea - we've also used wooden dowels on double wide doors and painted them.
