This is the headboard I want to make
My room wouldn't be this fussy, but I want a cottage look, and I love this headboard! Can't be that hard to make.

I like that head board made of fencing. In the 2nd photo, I like the bed angled kittycorner as well.
I made my own mock headboard by cutting piece of plywood, edging with leftover molding, doing a crackle paint treatment, and then gluing into the center a decorative wood medalion thingy. Then I screwed it into the wall directly.
I have the cottage/shabby chic thing going on in my house too so cannot wait to see the photos. Let us know how it goes and how you make the head board!!"The average pencil is seven inches long, with just a half-inch eraser - in case you thought optimism was dead." ~Robert Brault

I have french provincial furniture, which is so cute painted cottage white! I'm going to spray paint the hardware, but not sure what color yet. The bedroom will be painted green, sort of a soft, earthy, mossy green.
I already have all the bed linens. My friend gave me a matching set for a queen sized bed. Mine's double, but I'm going to move it into the guest room and get a queen.

I love it too! I agree it doesn't look too difficult to make. Do you do a lot of woodworking?

Headboard is awesome, but that room looks like toile hangover.
The second bedroom is much more livable and peaceful.
Good luck!

I've saved the link so I can show DH, he promised to make one when I decided what I wanted. I can't wait!!
