    Default Whats your pet peeve?

We all have a house keeping pet peeve or two when it come the way we like our house.

    Mine are as follows

    1. I can't stand a Dirty Floor.
    2. My towels have to be folded in one way, my way.
    3. The coffee pot has to be pushed all the way to the back of the counter. Every morning dh makes the coffe and leaves the pot on the edge of the counter and every morning when I get up I push it back.

Now it's your turn to tell us how weird you are.

O.k. this is really bad (OCD), but I can't let anyone else load the dishwasher because I like it done a certain way. People ask why my older kids don't help more, it's my hang up that I want things done a certain way!

I also have to have the towels (and all laundry for that matter) folded my way.

Everyone is free to vacuum and dust anyway they want!

My hubby does the same thing with the coffee pot, I have no idea why.

    My pet peeves:
    *finger prints on glass
    *drips on the counter top
*DH just dropping his stuff all over the counter top when he gets home. I just can't understand how he can take up the entire counter with just the stuff he carries in his pocket! It's like he spaces them out perfectly to take up the maximum amount of space.

    * I have my own bathroom, DH has his own. (Mine is the spa, his is called the" Defecation Station.")He had better not use mine.
*I cannot stand an unmade bed. If I am up, the bed is made. Neatly.
*I like fresh towels and linens daily.
*I want all my canned goods neatly stacked, with the labels outward.
*Anytime someone coughs or sneezes, I want them to use sanitizer or wash their hands. I keep the sanitizer in every room of the house.
    * No TV droning on. If no one is watching it, off it goes.I dislike noisy households.

With my grandbabies here so much now I do not allow shoes in the house because they are crawling on the floor and playing on the floor. Also, no smoking whatsoever! I also make sure my fridge is clean inside and the toilets, sink, showers, tubs , countertops are always clean. Also, no toxic chemicals! I either buy green or make my own. That goes for the yard too. LOL...forget about clutter free on the floor with three grandbabies three and under.

My biggest one is using clean towels. I do not let anyone reuse a towel. They get washed after each and every use - no questions asked. My dogs even get clean towels for their baths.

I cannot stand for someone to take clothes out of the dryer and not immediately fold/hang them and then put away. They do not belong in a laundry basket or on the dryer waiting to be put away. We have dressers and closets for a reason.

DH has a tendency to leave hangers out. When he irons his clothes in the morning he leaves the ironing board out and the hangers his clothes came off of on it. That really annoys me. It takes about two minutes to put the empty hanger in its place and put the ironing board away.

Which leads me to the hanger thing. Empty hangers do not stay hanging the closet. They go in the laundry room. We have a bar installed just for keeping empty hangers and hanging the few items that we do not put in the dryer. This way the hangers are all together when you are getting the clothes out of the dryer to be put away. Nobody wants to go all over the house, digging in everyones' closets to gather all of the hangers.

Ok - off my soapbox now.

Boy, I am awfully picky about the laundry. Kinda funny since DH does all of the washing, not me. I am surprised he hasn't told me to do it myself by now.

    Stuff that makes me mental:

    Dirty dishes

Dirty laundry not where it belongs (it doesn't belong in haphazard piles on the bedroom floor DH.....grrr)

Putting milk or juice cartons back into fridge nearly empty. Just finish it, toss it and write it on the list on the fridge door

Leaving just a couple of squares of tp instead of replacing the roll

Using up the last of something and not putting it on the shopping list

Not putting things back where they belong

Not house-related but my #1 pet peeve is people talking on the cellphone while driving. There is no excuse for it, none. I don't give a snort who is calling. Turn the freaking phone off while driving, make the calls while parked. The world managed to exist for millenia before cell phones, people will survive for the duration of the drive-time.

    Here's my list:

*The cap missing from the toothpaste tube(this is why I exclusively buy Colgate..they have the snap-up cap)

    *Wrinkled clothes

*Cat litter boxes that haven't been scooped in days (#1 of DH's 2 chores, LOL)

*Spilling stuff. I am a klutz. Just yesterday I spilled a couple pounds of sugar on the floor. Not fun.

*Food spoiling because I put off packaging it properly and freezing it after I came home from the grocery store.

    *Dirty or cluttered countertops.

Lights being turned on during the day. I love natural light.

Cereal boxes or jugs of milk put away with crumbs or a drip inside.

Over full kitchen trash can. I keep telling them they will NOT hurt my feelings if they do it for me.

Empty water dishes for the cats or dogs.

I have a list and they all have to do with stuff that dh does/doesn't do! LOL. Here they are: when dh empties the dishwasher, he leaves all the clean dishes on the counter--why doesn't he just put them away???? when dh empties the dryer, he brings up the laundry basket (of clothes that need to be folded) and leaves it in the kitchen. I have to walk around it or move it until I'm ready to fold. I have asked him repeatedly just to bring the basket up to the second floor--that way if company comes, we're not all looking at my laundry. I hate, hate, hate blinds more than anything in this world. I hate it when they are not pulled to the same level--if they are uneven they drive me crazy! I have removed all of them from the house and only have four more windows with them. Also, I used to have my own bathroom and he's started to take it over. ARghhhh! Geez--thanks for bringing this all up! LOL

I have a few (slightly OCD):

    1. All the light switches have to be aligned.(You know all up or all down)
    2. The toliet paper roll has to be rolled over. This is easy because I'M THE ONLY ONE TO CHANGE IT!
    3. I have to make to bed first thing in the morning and the dishes have to be done before bed.

    See just a few.

Okay the light switch thing would be really hard for me because each room has three switches on every plate. One for the light, one for the fan, and one for a plug at has nothing plugged into it. I would not want to turn all those on every time.
