We have new flooring and MORE!

This has been a VERY busy week. We have had a ton of home improvements done, and frankly, I am exhausted and I need to start cleaning up!

We have had our fireplace retiled, it was white and now it is an earthy slate colour. We had a white pillar in our living room that is now a square oak column with a mantle to match. Crown moulding. My hubby TOTALLY redid our front bathroom It had a pedistal sink....nice, but no storage. now we have space saver sink, with a medicine cabinet for storage, new floor, everything. AND AS IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH we had our entire upstairs floor replaced. Hardwoods in the entry and dining room, and new carpet in the living room, hallway and bedrooms.
WHEW!!!

And we still have the master bathroom to redo...THEN we'll be done! But WOW, it looks like a new house!!!

i'm exhausted and I didn;t even do any of the work!!

What a nice feeling when it is finished. My house is always in constant remodling of some kind and never seems to get done. grrr.

Wow! You must be very proud of your hubby right now, and I'm imagining the house looks great! That's alot of up-grades. Care to share it with the rest of us with some pics? I'd love to see the fireplace and crown moulding!

Yup, it will probably be later this week before I have the time or the the energy to take pictures and upload, but I will, cause my mom is already bugging me for pics too!

I didn;t take any formal "before" pics, but I'm a scrapbooker, so I have plenty of pics of my kids in those rooms, so you can get an idea of the before and after!!!

ps- oh yea, this was not frugal at all, I know. But when we moved last year, we went down in home price about 50,000. We put most of it on the down payment (we owe less than 40%....whooohooo) but kept back a sizeable chunk for improvements like this. And you if you want maximum bang for your buck, then a slate fireplace is a small area to do slate (it costs more than tile, but it's a small area)....it looks GREAT!!!!!!!! You see it right when you walk in the door. It punches some serious WOW FACTOR!!!

I love to just sit and sip coffee in the morning and look at a finished home improvement project. it's a wonderful feeling to know something got finished. Sounds like you've got a lot to enjoy.

It sounds fabulous. I would love to see your pictures. I am planning to eventually replace all of our flooring except for our 2 bathrooms in hardwood or laminates. I love the look of it.
