    Default Purged closets

Big time. i pitched all clothes that were: too big, too small, ratty. I gave away everything that was not ratty to a friend that has sisters (they're all working moms) and they donate to their church. I unloaded 12 large garbage bags of clothes. I dumped a box of shoes. 8 more boxes went to Goodwill.

Whew! What a load and what a weight off my mind and outta my house!

To celebrate I bought new (used) golf clubs . . Tee hee

We have started doing that as well. We got my hubby's closet cleaned it the other day and now working on mine. We have already brought one lawn and garden bag to the women's shelter and have two more to go so far. We are moving within a few months time cross country and I want to get rid of quite a bit.

Can I ask what part of the country you'll be moving to?

Many years ago I moved from California to Nebraska...what a change that was!

Good for you. We did manage to clean out our hall closet yesterday. Amazing how many pairs of outgrown shoes were just sitting there taking up space.

Good job. It's a great feeling to clean out and give it to people that need it.

WTG with the clean-out; now that I'm off work for the summer I need to buckle down and do the same. We never used to have all this stuff - I think you grow to fit your home (and ours is busting out at the seams!)

I admire women like you.......I just never get around to doing that stuff.

I did throw out clothes when I lost about 25pounds, that was really scary though, 'couse you never know if you will put on the extra weight again.

I desperately need to purge my closets...all of them! Since coming here, I've gotten started, and tend to only be able to part with 5-10 things at a time. I really would love to just get motivated to pitch all the stuff that isn't being worn or used.....I think I'll just keep checking this forum to get geared up.

I had too big clothes and too little clothes. Both got pitched. It was tough because what if I gain or lose weight? But ya know what - I'm glad it's gone.

It's still a shock to come home and see my closet doors closed. Seriously, it's probably been over a year since I could close my bedroom closet doors.

And the clubs are great - Golden Bear set. I really like them and I'm taking them out again this weekend cuz' I don't have to stay home and clean closets. Tee hee
