Somebody Stop Me!!!

Let me begin by saying that I do not have a clutter problem. I'm a low-clutter lady, and would be even more so if not for the 3 little precious monkeys that roam this zoo.

Yesterday was my last day of school and I had today off and I have Monday off before going back to work for the summer at camp. And, once again, as always happens this time of year, I want to toss it all!!!

I declutter bit by bit and maintain during the school year while I'm working, but once I'm off...watch out!!! I just want to throw away/give away/sell everything that isn't nailed down. I'm eyeing up toys in the playroom, clothes in the closet, seriously...EVERYTHING IS FAIR GAME!!!

Luckily, dh is home for the weekend and can (hopefully) temper my tossing tendencies!

Then it should make you very happy to know that I'm clearing out my dastardly hide all junk closet. It's time for my halloween decorations to hit the attic, no? I have 1 big bag of trash, a stack for recycling and a pile for yard sale.

Oh Amy I sooooo hear you. I love to just pair down to whats needed. DH gets REALLY mad when I lay hands on his stuff though. I've mentioned this a few times lately because my eyes keep straying to HIS stuff that I think needs to go....see the problem.

I completely understand. I would toss so much stuff it it weren't for my family's protests LOL Yesterday was K & L's last day of school, and we *will* be going through their toys this week to get rid of things they don't play with any more.

I *am* in DD's room right now (took a break) getting rid of things I know she will never miss...

That broken crayon shoved way under the bed... but watch... I will have the original Princess and the Pea and she will KNOW I tossed it

It's a start... I can get rid of 'other peoples' stuff better than I can my own...

I know how you feel. Since summer hit our home, I have been decluttering and tossing out items from our home too. It seems harder to declutter during the school year because we are so busy, but once summer hits I am in declutter mode.

I understand completely! I went through clothes like crazy today. Look out "sell store" as my kids call it. I cannot wait to get rid of this clutter. By the time I go back in the Fall I am hoping to have flung 1000 things.

I freecycled away three large trash bags of clothes the boys had outgrown...phewf!!!

Oh my gosh I hear you I hear you all, however do any of you ever get so carried away. I mean I throw away things that i know for sure that I will never ever need or never ever use ever ever again. And then realize I couple of weeks later that I actually needed that Item. I am always giving away handbags to people because I am a Bagaholic. Then after I have done that I find a dress I like down town that simply goes with that bag. Oh my gosh sounds as though i have problems

every so often i start throwing everything away especially kitchen stuff. i just hate thinking i have a bunch of junk sitting around that im not using

I must admit I am a terrible packrat. My daughter from out of town is visiting me this week and she was horrified at the clutter. She promptly took me in hand and helped me do some much needed dejunking. I have thrown out two old washers and two old dryers that have been in my basement for years, tons of old papers I always think I need to save, I have organzied my bookshelves so you can actually see the books, all in all given my house a good old spruce up. It's hard with seven boys throwing their stuff around everywhere but I have committed myself to my own little mini challenge...to keep the dining room table cleared off so you can actually sit down and eat, and keep the floors clear so that walking through any given room is not an obstacle course! I have been throwing things out all this month in response to another challenge on the boards, but I am quite proud of myself this morning.

So, today I freecycled away a bag of clothing that my sisters-in-law had given me, but I never got around to wearing. I also listed some decorative tins, but so far no takers. I just also listed 2 PartyLite tealight houses that I absolutely love, but I really don't use and dh hates...Mushroom Manor and the Lemon Drop House. Ooh, they are so cute, but I really don't need them.

Tomorrow after work, I'm looking around some more to see what I can get rid of.
