Default Does anyone have one of those steam cleaning mops?

I know it looks a little gimmick-y but I was wondering if anyone had one and what they thought about it.....anybody?

My mom bought one a while back, she said it wasn't worth the trouble and never really used it.

I don't have one, but I do use a carpet steamer to do my bare hardwood floors. I absolutely love it, because it sucks the dirty water back up into the resevoir, so I'm not left with any dirt on the floor.

~I have one and I like it. It's not as 'clean' as a wet mop but it's less messy and germ-y. If you sweep and mop your floors several times a week, it's a good option. And I think it's alot less trouble than wet mopping.~

I have one and I love mine. The only problem I hate about it is that it doesn't get in between the grout. But, it does a good job on stains on carpet too.

OK, I finally tried mine. I used it on my Pergo floors in the kitchen. I think it worked really well. It seemed to leave the floors a bit dull though. I think I'm going to try putting some vinegar in the water the next time I use it.

I had one of the original sharks, that you had to carry. I LOVED it for floors, but it was heavy on my shoulders. Then it fell and broke. I got a refund. Iv'e been eying the new ones. I'm asking for a G/C from the store that carries it to buy one at Christmas. With a home daycare, and a puppy, I like to do my floors daily, this wouldmake it sooo much quicker. Chemical free.

Finally used mine. Did great on my pergo floors and ceramic tiles. Got all the stains up and dried quick with no streaking. Let my father use it (he's so picky he towel dries his floors) and he liked it too.

I am a bit of a clean freak so take my review as just that LOL.

I love my steam mop and likely wont go back.
I have wood or linoleum floors.

The mop only uses water, its quick, and literally makes the floor hot.
It leaves no residue and leaves a squeaky clean "feel" to the floor.
I have cleaned a few other homes with it and they love the feel also.
I like to mop the regular way, then go back over it with the steam mop. It surprises me what it pulls up.

To me the Dyson, steam mops, microfiber, magic erasers, are just modern tools that I can't live without now.
For me it paid to upgrade my tools etc..

PS some of these mops do better if you use distilled water, and don't store the water container with water in it. It makes the filter last longer.

Our local news does a weekly bit called "Does it work Wednesdays." One of the news anchors tests the latest products and gives them a grade. It's really interesting as she goes into detail about how it works. She did one on the steam mops recently. http://www.kfvs12.com/Global/story.asp?S=8382729

toile, what brand of map are you using? What's everyone else got? I've been thinking of getting one and wonder which brand is best.
