Default Finally purged the kids' toy boxes

I went through all six of them (yep, six) and threw away half a 67L bag of broken toys/toys they don't play with any more. I also managed to get a whole box of baby toys out of it. Now it's time to clean up the baby toys and put them into something to give to my mother in law (along with the baby clothes).

I still have fix boxes of toys though! I made a deal with my youngest that we'd buy batteries for the toys he already has and Santa can bring him stuff he needs for Christmas this year. He actually helped me go through the box and I'd show him a toy. I'd say, 'Do you play with this?' and he'd always say 'Yeah!'. I'd ask him again and he'd say, 'Naaaaah, give it away.'.

    Yay for getting that done!

~Good for you! This is an area I need to work on too. I already weeded out the broken ones but it's hard to determine what they're not playing with anymore. Every time I think of culling a certain item out they end up playing with that very thing. Weird.~

Thumbs up Mom to two boys...

I am the mom to 1 boy and his and my first weekend after Halloween project is to go through the play/family room and purge toys. Basically I tell him that if he wants Santa to bring him new toys he needs to get rid of the toys he doesn't play with and share them with someone who will (last year I donated 6 garbage bags full to the school Brownies who in turn donated them to a local charity). Keep up the great work.

GREAT job!!! I need to do something similar! I'll probably clean up the better condition stuff to sell at our twice a year "Just Between Friends" consignment sale - It's always a lot of fun to get rid of that cluttery unused stuff!!!!!!
