What do you do with all the extra things that you might only have one of? Like batteries, or tape, or rubberbands.

I don't have a junk drawer either. I have a little container for string/elastics/tape and another little container for batteries.

I don't have a junk drawer anymore either. I have a small cart located in the spare room with different sized drawers and containers in it to keep all of our little bits of odds and ends in. I'm able to keep that pretty organized. I switched to this after the last time when I did have a junk drawer and cleaned it out, I found receipts from 5 years ago and just a bunch of other forgotten things and just got tired of the amount of clutter that ended up there.

I cleaned out a drawer yesterday. It isn't a junk drawer, but when I got into it it sure like it had turned into one! It's my tool drawer in the kitchen. It's supposed to hold a hammer, screwdriver, pliers, tape measure...stuff I might need and not want to go to the garage for. Well, it had been taken over by 'stuff' so much that I couldn't even see the tools. So I cleaned it yesterday - or rather had dh do it. Okay, so I pulled the 'extra' stuff out and asked dh what he wanted to keep cause the rest was going in the trash. Hmmm, he removed almost all of it out to his garage lol My drawer is now strictly tools again

Are you kidding me! We have 3 for household and then we each have one in our dressers!

I clean the main one in the kitchen about once every two months, but wow it's always a wreck! Yours looks wonderful!

No junkdrawer here either. I'm one of those people who are constantly cleaning cabinets and drawers and rearranging things. Now if your asking if I have cleaned my junk room lately? The answer is... it's in the process of being reorganized and Fall Flinged. It's not my junk however. It's all the stuff DBF's parents gave us when they up and sold everything so they could move to Florida about 3 years ago. We don't really have room for it since we live in a mobile home but we have it anyway. Personally I'd like to pitch most of it but DBF won't let me.

I went through mine yesterday to take out all of the tools that were in there. I had to carry them all downstairs in a plastic bag, there were so many!

My junk drawer usually holds batteries, charger plugs for the MP3 player and the cell phone, plus some eyeglass cases and pens. I try not to put papers in it anymore so I don't lose any.

I have one in the kitchen that's not been purged in a while. To me it feels like losing weight when I clean something out and throw away stuff I don't need. I've been working on my basement this week getting rid of clothing and toys, books and donating them to charity.
