1/5/09 1 hour 15 minutes of Purging my closet
Okay, I spent some serious time purging my closet. I tackled the hanging t-shirts, and the long sleeve t-shirts on the shelf. I had more long sleeve t's than I thought.
My sweaters won't yet fit up on the closet shelf where they're suppose to be.
Need to go hang up some of those short sleeve t's that are in the wrong place, put the to-go stuff in maybe 2 big black bags... blush...
Maybe after a few more months, I'll tackle it again and see what else I can part with.Last edited by Natalie; 01-05-2009 at 08:14 PM.

That's fantastic.
It's amazing what you find in your closets that you weren't aware existed there (and in your case, the fact you had more long-sleeved t-shirts).

I just did this, and I ended up with THREE big lawn/leaf bags. So you are still below your quota by one bag.
I was ruthless, though, and got rid of just about everything I didn't love, and love a LOT.
I was SO happy that I did it. It was like getting rid of an old and kind of used-up part of myself, and opening up space for all sorts of potential.
I'll bet you've got another bag in you, if you make another "surgical strike."

I'll be tackling our closet this week and I'm not looking forward to it! I've been going room by room by cleaning and purging......it's been a lot of work but so rewarding when you see how much stuff is leaving and less to take care of.
Great job on doing your closet!

Way to go! I'm on the same page. My hubby put another door on my closet so now I have double doors. I can see everything when I look inside now! I worked on it yesterday and today. I got rid of 8 bags of stuff! It looks great! Can't wait to get to the rest of the house!

Thanks for reminding me I need to continue cleaning out closets. This seems to be one of those chores that I start, but never finish. Anyway, I'll spend at least 20 minutes tonight sort through stuff for a friend. Its been a while since I've given her anything & she was happy I offered again. I'd like to have the items for her next week, so I'll work on this for the next few days. I also have several bags ready to be dropped off at the thrift store (these are from my before Christmas clean out). I keep forgetting to drop them off, but I'll be in the area tomorrow. Then, I'd like to start on the storage closet... Sounds like a plan.
