Yes. We have one by the fridge (closest drawer to the door), and it is organized with containers for things like: batteries, elastics, notepads, shoelaces (!), pens/pencils/markers, transit maps and regular maps and freezer labels.
I have no intention of re-purposing it. The stuff would just be left laying someplace else. DH needs a home for this kind of stuff.
