    Default Spring Cleaning

I know this is a little early, but has anyone thought about or started any spring cleaning??? This winter has been so cold and icy that I have started doing a little spring cleaning this past week! I have only cleaned out the closet in the kids room and gone through a few cabinets in my kitchen!! I figured I'd get as much done as I could and then when spring finally came around, we could be outside with the kids playing instead of cleaning!

How about you? Has anyone started spring cleaning or getting a list going of what needs to be done??

I started this week as well. Started going through closets and tossing. I also cleaned half my windows on the inside. I love our new windows as they are the ones that fold in..so you can clean the outside at the same time... Love it!

LOL! You're onto me! I've been reading a book about getting things done, and another couple on re-decorating. Of course this means moving things around, and that means sorting and purging...and well, you end out doing a spring clean without meaning to to start! So yes, I'm spring cleaning in that sense. Not sure about the actual cleaning part...with rag and cleaners. But certainly de-cluttering the house.

I've been working on de-cluttering all winter. Yes, I'm thinking about spring cleaning. We live on a lake and would like to have some friends bring their campers up this summer to stay with us, so need to muck out the place for that reason. We're also hosting an RV rally at a local park and might end up with a few people here before or after the rally, so need to have things ready for that possibility. Plus we're just sick and tired of having all the clutter and disorganization.

I have started decluttering, that is going to take awhile.

I don't usually start the actual cleaning part until after they stop taking my water usage to figure out my sewer bill. I try to keep my water as low as possible until then.

Yes I have been spring cleaning and decluttering. I have another box filled today. We are planning on a move early 2010 and I need to be working on the decluttering now. The less we have to move the better. It also keeps our goals alive.

I've also made a list of everything I need to get done in each room. Helps me keep track.

That's funny, I am doing that now too. I have emptied my kitchen and scrubbing floors, will get dh to move the appliances later to wash there.

I have a few bags of donations, but need to cull ALOT more out.

It's hard in someways, dd5 outgrown toys, I'd love to get rid of, but due to doing home daycare, I need to keep some. lol.

Our dining room and kitchen are done with the exception of the windows and under the fridge.

I've been trying to tackle one room at a time and clearing the clutter as I go.

I sure have been! I've done all of my closets, my bathroom, bedroom and sewing room are done! Now I need to finish up my spare bedroom and I'll be all set! I'm going to have to do the windows, but I'm going to wait til a nice warm sunny day for that.

I have been. It makes the actually cleaning part easier for when the weather is warmer, and I can air out the house. Plus when it gets warmer, I don't want to be stuck inside de-cluttering and cleaning when I can be outside enjoying the nice weather

I started last week too! My den is completely decluttered and cleaned, the only thing left to do will be the windows outside and getting the screens from the basement cleaned and put back up.

This week, I'm doing the kitchen. I decluttered it thoroughly last year, so it shouldn't be too bad.

I agree with you Michelle, I want the cleaning inside to be done, so that when the warm weather comes, I can be outside! There's plenty to do out there too.

I think that I shall just keep my house de-cluttered and cleaned that way I don't have to do any major spring cleaning. I just moved into my first very own apartment and I think it's much easier to maintain than to just do big cleanings.

Here I was thinking... WOW these ladies are AHEAD of schedule with their cleaning and I need to figure out how to tap into that motivation because I'm such a slacker! Then I realised that I just cleaned the flat almost top-to-bottom this weekend. It's not perfect, but BOY is it better.

My next plan is to put up some shelving in the bedroom so I can change my clothing arrangement.

I don't usually start my "real" heavy duty spring cleaning until I have a nice warm day and can open up the windows. Then things really start moving along for me. So it'll still be another month or so here.
