    lol thanks
i'm just trying to get an idea of whether these are adequate chores to do on a regular basis...
if anything needs to be added or changed or recommended, i'll then work on a daily 'how-to'... figure i should learn how to "keep house" so i have a kept house.

    thanks for responding

I love your list, it sounds very much like mine. Here is my daily:

    ~Make beds
    ~Dishes put away
~Check if laundry needs to be started
    ~Make sure kitchen is clean
~Trash goes out from all rooms/recycables go out

After BreakfastI do this after every meal)
    ~Wash dishes
    ~Wipe down countertops
    ~Sweep the kitchen

    Dust(every 2 days)
Vacuum(2 times per week, the entire house)
    Clean Mirrors(every other day)
    Clean Bathrooms(once per week)
Pick up livingroom(at the end of the evening)

    BathroomI do this daily)
    Wipe down countertops
    Clean the mirrors

Windows are cleaned once a week
Weekly I make a grocery list and menu list for the week
Clean the fridge and wipe it down weekly
    Clean the oven weekly

That's all I can think of right now.

Taking inventory of the cabinets and pantry really only needs to be done before you make your grocery list.

clean lights? Hum, that is not something I do more then once a year.

This is what I do, but of course, everyone's will be different because of circumstances/personality/family size, etc

    Daily;
make beds, do dishes and wipe down kitchen counters, laundry if needed (and weather cooperates - I hang laundry outside), pet care (food, water, and scoop litter boxes), sweep floors, vacuum-just the main traffic areas (I have 4 cats and a dog inside - so I have to vacuum more than "normal"), and general picking up/straightening. We also wipe down tubs and showers while we are in them - might not be the "right" way, but they stay clean lol.

Monday I clean the kitchen - wipe down cabinets as needed, wipe down appliances, light switches, dust/cobwebs, clean light fixtures and range hood/oven. straighten pantry, clean out refrigerator, scrub out microwave, and mop floor (I hit spots and spills during the week with the swiffer)

Tuesday is my errand day - getting groceries, library time, visiting, etc

Wednesday I clean the bathrooms - clean inside windows (again - I have pets and kids that are constantly leaving marks on these), wash mirrors, clean counters, cabinet doors, switch plates, and scrub toilet. sweep and mop the floors. wash litter boxes (they're in the bathrooms, so I include them)

Thursday I clean bedrooms - change/wash sheets, clean switch plates, dust/sweep down cobwebs, clean glass (mirror and window), and vacuum thoroughly. I also check the kids' toy bins to clear out trash/broken toys on these days since I'm already in their bedrooms)

Friday I clean the living room/hallway - dusting/cobwebs, clean glass, and thorough vacuuming. I also wash the dog bedding (her crate is in living room) and give the dog a bath.

Saturday and Sunday is when I take care of any outside chores I have or I just vegetate on the couch.

All the cleaning I do is on an as-needed basis. Obviously, there aren't cobwebs to get down every week, the mirror may not need to be cleaned, the switch plates may not have any smears, etc, so my list isn't quite as exhausting as it sounds. Other cleaning (under the fridge, behind the washer and dryer, walls, curtains, etc I just do when they look like they need more than a spot clean - or once or twice a year as needed.

    kitchen:
dishes, counters, clean table, organize shelves, take inventory of food, clean floor, clean rugs, clean out fridge, clean lights, water plants, clean stove/oven, Microwave, window above the sink, doorknobs and light switches, back door

    livingroom:
vacuum, dust furniture, clean fabric furniture, put away things in proper room/place, Cobwebs, maybe ceiling fan, lamp shades, baseboards, switches and doorknobs

    baths:
clean floor, toilet, shower, sink, organize sink/cabinet, take inventory of toiletries, mirror, remove dirty laundry, Put up fresh towels, door knobs and switches

    bedroom:
change sheets, clean mirror, vacuum, dust, put away clothes Blinds dusted, switches and door knobs

I clean houses for a living and I notice crazy things but your home will be clean.
    misc:
organize closets, put away things, take inventory (cleaning supplies, pet stuff, etc), do laundry, empty trash all around
    this is good.

    i wanted to add:
If it ain't dirty don't clean it.
have to declutter before cleaning is possible.
change the air conditioner filters once a month
clean (scrub) fridge and oven when you notice it is dirty
wash curtain when you notice it is dirty
clean miniblind when you notice it is dirty. mine are gross right now but will have to wait until summer vacation
clean exterior windows when you notice they are dirty. sigh... summer vacation.
i alternate deep dusting with featherduster dusting. for example last week i damp dusted the furniture and detailed all the nooks and crannies, then for the next while, just use the featherduster. don't have to be anal all the time.
use the lint roller sticky thingie from walmart to clean up the upholstered furniture.

    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

    My daily list:
    -make bed
-TMT (ten minute tidy) every room
-laundry complete cycle (generally a load a day)
    -take out trash
    -dinner clean up

Then I do specific chores on specific days.

    Monday:
    Vacuum whole house
    Mop floors
Wash rugs (EOW-every other week) or as needed
    Wash/change sheets

    Tuesday:
Dust every surface in the house
Clean out fridge to prepare for shopping

    Wednesday:
Deep cleaning one room a month
    Decluttering in the same room

    Thursday:
    Vacuum house again
    Shopping, errands

    Friday:
Finish any weekly or deep cleaning
    Office/desk area

Weekends are for things like the car, watering plants, cutting organizing coupons, etc.

We're empty nesters, so no little ones, in a 1500 sq. foot home, I've used this plan for years and am happy with it. Everybody is different about what works for their home and their family.

    wow, thank you all!
i feel like i'm starting off with TOO much... I'll take what you all recommend, and make a simple "to do" list... i also see things on here i do need to add that i simply forgot/didn't see (ie, dusting blinds!)...

    this helps me tremendously!!!
    thanks
