    Default Spring Purge Mini-Challenge

    Hi all!

Spring has sprung...well, for most of us. I'd love to have us all commit to filling a large trash bag with EITHER:

    trash to toss

    OR

    items to donate

If you can fill one bag for each category, all the better!

This week, I had Dd go through her books and she donated a pile of them, as well as a bunch of toys. I added her toys and books to a bag I had gleaned from the playroom, and then I tossed a bag of broken toys and trash from the playroom/craft area.

I'm on Spring Break next week and my goal is to hit the office. I'd be surprised if ALL I get is one bag. So, please don't limit yourself to one bag, one room, or one goal!

So, I'd love for you all to join me! If you can take pictures and post them of what you accomplish, all the better. Yet, even if you can't, please just post your progress in words!

Let's set a goal of one week to complete this challenge. I'd love everyone to be done by Friday April 10th!

So, get to work and good luck!

I filled a grocery bag today from the office. To clarify, from dh's desk in the office. It's a much more peaceful room to walk in now!

I got one fairly large drawer totally empty. woohoo
also cleaned out a basket of magazines, flyers, etc.
I'm feeling pretty good with what I've gotten done so far.

I filled a trash bag from the office closet yesterday. Just odds and ends that have found their way in there over the years. Then, I moved some things into and out of the closet in a reorganization effort. I'm much happier with the closet now, and very please that dh has kept his desk clean since I purged that last week.

Today I hope to find more stuff, however, I've been doing so well with not bringing crapola into the house, there really isn't that much to go at this point!

I just saw this thread. Good one Amy! I'm on spring break too and I'm on a roll. I have already taken one load of scrap metal to the recycle center. I have five bags of clothes to take to the recycle center at our trash transfer station. Some of the clothes are from my mother-in-law for my niece. My niece has a ton of clothes so someone else can use them.

I'll be back at it today!

    Thumbs up

I love this thread!! My problem is I have no idea where to start! I have been such a pack rat! I think I will start out with the bathroom drawers tonight and just get organized. I was looking for a new pack of razors yesterday and everything was such a jumbled mess!! I just get so disgusted with myself. This board (and all of you wonderful ladies!) has made me soooo much more motivated! I actually look forward to getting organized now!

glad I saw it this morning.l Have been working on this haphazardly by myself for the past week, ....now I have a focus!! Last night I went through old paper work - about 4 inches worth to shred and; three inches to file..... and a grocery bag full of paper to toss. Tonight I'm goint to work on my dresser. Mahalo for the challenge!!

    Everyone is doing great!

I moved outside of the house today and cleaned out my van. Whoo-boy! Did it need it! I filled a grocery bag with gum wrappers, little pieces of paper, melted crayons, half a pop-tart (), and a bunch of other little things that had been stuck in between seat cushions, etc. Then, I pulled out the vacuum and vacuumed the van. It looks SO much better now!

I cleaned out my car the other day and boy is it a much nicer place to be!

I had the living room cleaned, but my son & dh trashed it a bit today! We will have the living room & diing room cleaned tonight before bed.

Tomorrow, dh is taking the kids for me so I can have some alone time. How sad is it that I plan to clean I will go through the kids' drawers/closets and put stuff away that no longer fits. I should be able to gather a bag to donate and a trash bag easily without them around.
