Ideally, you should clean each toilet in your home at least weekly. Try these:
Add approximately 1/4 cup of bleach into the bowl and let sit for a few minutes before cleaning. Using bleach will disinfect your toilet bowl.

CLR is also available at Home Depot, Lowes, etc.
CLR stands for "calcium, lime, and rust". It's also good for removing water deposits on showerheads.

The only thing I use on my toilets is the works like Debbie-cat and It's the best and doesn't cost much. I've used it for years! I soak my shower head it vinegar it's good for hard water. You can use in toilet also if you have bad hard water stains.

Thanks everyone! Surely I can find something at Walmart that will do the trick.

When you've tried all of the products you mentioned, did you turn off the water before flushing the toilet so that the water in the bowl is really low? I find this makes a huge difference. I'm pretty sure the product Debbie mentioned above, The Works, even instructs you to do exactly that when you use it.

Thanks for 'the works' post.....I will be trying that. Sounds like good stuff.......and much cheaper than CLR.
I have very hard water.
IF you feel you HAVE to use a pumice stone.......DON'T use it much....or often.........been there, done that. Takes the finish off.......in a short time! Would NOT rec. it!

I didn't turn the water off but I used the toilet brush to push the water out so I could get to the stain.
I do clean my toilets every week and I can't figure out how this deposit happened!
