Default Do you have household projects that you are putting off?

Do you have a one-time job you should have done by now but just keep procrastinating? Or routine tasks that you find yourself putting off all the time? What are some of the projects that you keep avoiding? Maybe we can motivate each other to just get them done.

I have a piece of baseboard for the kitchen that's been sitting in my garage for 2 months. We even showed the house without it (not a readily visible location). I don't know why I won't just nail it on, it would take about 10 minutes.

For routine tasks, I always put off dusting. I just don't like to dust and knowing that I'm just going to have to dust it again the next week is really demotivating.

Ironing and dusting. The mental hurdle is higher than normal, because I don't like the apartment we're living in, and I don't really want to take care of it.

Uhmm! How much time you got? Let's see...I've been clearing and organizing my closet for over a year now. Oh, it's been started, but it's just keeps hanging in mid-air in "it's almost done" state. The same thing with my linen closet

Then there's the sun room, where I have a wicker trunk filled with toys that need to be outta here like 4years ago I also need to take down the valances which have seen better days. It's embarassing, but I bought new ones about 2 years ago. So do not worry MW...you are far from alone!

My craft room. I've moved all the craft supplies into the basement - I have just been putting off organizing it.

One problem is that we're storing our pool down there. It takes up a lot of room. Another issue is that we're remodeling our master bedroom and that's taking up a lot of my time. Not that I'm doing the work, my hubby is. But I'm finding myself picking up the pieces from the mess left behind. Everything else is in shambles. My bed is in my living room right now. Boxes of things in the dining room etc. So, the craft room has been put on stand by.

....The hole in the coat/game closet ceiling that needs a blowout patch. We changed it from one large washerdryer closet to 2 closets (1 with the new water heater and the second as the coat/game/extra stuff closet) and in doing so took the light out after it was mostly done as we were really trying to leave it. That's been about.......oh.......about 6 or 7 years ago . I forget it's even there until I go looking for a game that's cycled to the back row....or someone asks about "procrastinating"

I'm not going to count the whole 2 year ongoing kitchen remodel that's at a standstill as that's not procrastination as much as it is that I wasnt to just pay cash for everything else we need and then slam it out. Luckily for my sanity we are VERY close to the dollar amount.

I haven't started any spring cleaning. Still need to hem the valances for the bedroom - going on for about a year.

Need to clean up the balcony. Haven't finished putting away the spring/summer clothes.

I need to repot two or three plants into larger containers. Another needs to be divided. I was thinking maybe next week.

Of course, I've been thinking that for a while, but this week I dug in and did a lot of other things I've been procrastinating about (pats self on back).

If this thread had gone up three or four days ago, I would have had quite a list.

I have a few tiles that have fell off behind the kitchen sink. All I need to do is buy the glue and stick them back up. But for some reason I just don't, but yet it bugs me to look at.

Oh I remember the big project of painting the kitchen cabinets. That was a huge project and I even pulled an all nighter to finish it. It took a few days for me and dh to complete that. So I feel for you.

I took my cupboard doors off to paint them, I believe they were off for about 9 months before I actually got them done.

I cut the baseboard this afternoon, my husband is out there hammering it on right now. I'll go touch up the nail holes as soon as he's done - so that silly little job is finally taken care of.
