    Default Our Bedroom Redo!

We had a new roof put on in 2008 and we knew of one leak, but it looks like there had been another in our bedroom. Our chest of drawers was at an angle in the corner with the tv on top. This room always had a musty smell that we attributed to the carpet.

Well, I declared to hubby that we had to rip the carpet out. When we were doing it, we discovered that the bottom of the chest was rotten and the carpet had been wet at some point (this area lines up directly with a valley in our roof). Also, we were sleeping (somewhat) on a sleep number bed given to us by in-laws. The bladder on my side didn't hold air so I woke up every morning sleeping on the foundation.

DH started a new job and got his vacay pay from old work so we used some of it to get this set. Totally paid for...my favorite kind of furniture!!! We plan to save and replace the carpet in October before it gets cold. Until then, it's concrete floors for us.

Here is our bed: I used the same bedding and made the pillow from 2 placemats and a thrift store pillow.

I used a table runner on top of the dresser to prevent scratches and also add some color. The perfume bottles are on a bread tray we got as a wedding gift and never used. The pic frame and fleur de lis were taken from an overloaded spot in the dining room.

More to come as the project continues!!!

When we moved in, they were very daunting, but now I've figured out just keep everything else neutral and let the red be the highlight.

    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)

freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.
