    Default Organizing Winter Outerwear

I unpacked a box of scarves and mittens yesterday and put them in a basket in the closet. It's not a very good system, mates get lost and there is endless digging for the correct sizes and items. With three kids in school this year I'm really going to need to be able to find things more efficiently.

What do you do to keep hats, mittens, etc. organized?

I use onne of those plastic over the door shoe organziers with pockets
you can label a few pockets for eeach child one for hat one for gloves one for scarves.
sometimes i have clipping clothepins to attach gloves to the outside of the pocket when they are wet so they can dry

or you can buy - salvage a peice of wood- glue or nail clipping type clothepins on them put in coat area or in closet hang on wall etc and then just clip them and they are open in the air for drying.

I use an over the door shoe organizer.
    White Over-the-Door 42-Pocket Organizer - Bed Bath & Beyond

It's hung on the door leading to the lower level (faces downstairs) and right near the front coat closet.
