Talking My $5 Kitchen Appliance Makeover

After the recent discussion about stainless steel appliances, I suddenly wished my dishwasher was stainless. It's from the early 80's, metal at the top and edges with one of those coloured panels on the bottom and door (they used to come with a selection of panels and you just put the one on that matched your kitchen). This one was white.

A couple months ago I had bought a roll of metallic contact paper, I don't know why, I just thought it was cool. Tonight I cut a piece to fit the white panel on my dishwasher, slapped it on and presto!, stainless steel dishwasher

I'm not sure if I was being clever or just ridiculous, but it actually looks pretty good.

(but now I need a new fridge to match...)

Who would ever guess that a rol of lmettalic contact paper could do such wonders ?? Sounds like you had a hunch about it??

I love your ingenuity, and I'm giving you a 5 star rating for it! Don't happen to have a pic, do ya?

    Really nice job MW~

Likewise I'd like to see a pic too.

There is this stuff that can help you with your fridge. Here:

That sounds great! It probably looks better than my project, but at least my microwave is no longer an eyesore. It is one of the old, large ones that had a fake wood-grain finish to it from the 80's. I removed the cover and spray-painted it with the hammered-metal "stainless" paint.
