Default Spring Clean 2011 - Bedrooms

Who wants to start with the bedrooms? This is where I always begin cleaning, not sure why

I'm going to wash the bedding (bedspreads included ), organize/clean the closets, purge excess clothing, wash the floors, dust, clean windows. I'd wash the curtains, except I don't have any yet.

Anyone care to join me? Any tasks I might have forgotten?

My goal is to have all three bedrooms scrubbed this week. Although, the kids are off on break until the end of the month so they might slow me down.

I'll join in with you - my commitment is 30 minutes daily until the master bedroom is totally cleaned out from top to bottom!! That's it - an easy commitment and shall check in here daily!!

I'm in. I am going to try to do my master bedroom in a week. I also want to wash the walls, door and baseboards. I have never washed walls before so does anybody know what you wash them with?

I really hate spring cleaning so I hope this challenge motivates me. Thanks monkeywrangler for starting it!

Well I got started today. Washed the comforter. Took down curtains and will wash tomorrow. Wiped down curtain rods, window frames, vacummed blinds, wiped down blinds, cleaned ceiling fan and wiped down metal stars that hang above the bed. Also washed windows.

If I had gold stars in the house I'd put one on my forehead! I feel like I got a good start.

Washed curtains and hung back up to dry. Washed down door and wood furniture with Murphys Oil Soap. Vacummed lamp shades. Wiped down tops of under bed storage boxes and vacummed under the bed.

Tomorrow will start to tackle the closet.

Wow, you're a cleaning machine!! And lots of great reminders of things i hadn't thought of - ceiling fan (always miss this), tops of storage containers, blinds...

I organized the closets the other day, which was a relief as I hadn't done them since moving in. I ripped some shelves out of the linen closet and am going to rebuild them in the bedroom closet. Just need dh to cut some boards for me.

I worked on our bedroom for almost two hours on Sunday and went through a lot - even though it only made a small dent!!
Yesterday was a bust since I did not feel well.

However today I am raring to go on another area of the bedroom!!

It's in the 70's and sunshiny here all week. I have been cleaning, washing, dusting, hanging things outside to dry and air out every day.

Friday (when hubby is home) we will start cutting every thing back that got frost damage, turning the compost pile over and adding compost to all the flower beds, trees, and shrubs.

Since losing weight I have SO much more energy and it is SO much easier to move around and do things. There is no telling what will get done this spring!

Okay, I must admit, I have never done spring cleaning before. Now I know there is a need for it! I was thinking today the whole house needs to be done and I almost ran screaming to the woods it seems so overwhelming but I quess I just have to think about one room at a time.

Today I cleaned the closet. Wiped down shelves in closet, took everything out that was on the floor and vacuumed and wiped molding. Wiped down shoe racks and top and sides of plastic drawer unit. Rearranged some stuff. I didn't go through clothes because I do that twice a year when I change clothes for seasons.
