Have you tried cleaning that tube on the back of the fridge out?
It should come off, it might be plugged. I remember someone having problems with that years ago.

I am a landlord. It can be a PITA too!

I am going to second fixing this yourself the floor can be fixed and it would probably fairly easy to fix. Clean the old fridge and replace it with a newer one ( used or reoped) make sure your reciept matches the numbers inside of the unit. Use the old one for storage if he will not get rid of it. SAVE your money and make the most of what u have. one day u and hubby and your new fridge will move into a new place.

PP--with laminate floors it can happen. You also aren't supposed to use any 'cleaners' with them.........you damp mop them.......using very little water.

LL..........whatever you decide to do about the frig. I would check with the landlord first........don't just toss his frig. or you could be leaving yours their when you leave.

Good luck getting both these things solved.
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Check with your local county health department. You may have the right to call out a technician to fix the problem with the fridge and deduct your expenses from the rent. I don't know if the messed up floor covering would qualify but you could ask.

I'll ask him if we are allowed to just get our own appliances and have him take the fridge he owns and put it into the building's storage or something. He has a lot of spare appliances under the stairwells, so maybe we are not the only ones who have had this idea. The worse that can happen is he will say no.
I'd get it in writing, if you do get your own that it is yours and that the landlord is storing the appliance that came with the unit. He may put in the caveat that you cannot call him for repairs on the fridge but having all this in writing is worth it not only when you get ready to move but also if for some reason he sells the property to a new owner who would have no reason to think it is yours and you have no real proof it was allowed.
