Unhappy And this is why I can't get ahead....Vent!

~Oh my, I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. This morning I set the timer for an hour to clean as much as possible in that time period. As a side note, I had been doing 15-20 minute sessions but recently realized that my almost 2 year old was being less demanding and that I could bump up my session times. I did take a break in the hour time, pausing the timer, to get the kids breakfast and handle other kid morning issues.
Anyway, with 2 minutes left on the timer I was finishing up making iced tea and looking forward to a break in front of the computer with a bowl of peach yogurt.
    But noooooooooo!
Dear little toddler got into the fridge and spilled half a gallon of freshly made sweet tea all over the fridge interior and floor. Rugs and rags to wash, fridge interior, exterior and floor to mop up, fridge to empty and move out because I can see sweet tea pooled under it. Waaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Thanks for that extra 30 minutes of work kiddo. I really don't think DH believes me when I say I spend about 4 hours a day cleaning but I do and this is why. ~

    Sounds typical.

Try storing the tea in a two-liter pop bottle. If it falls, chances are it won't spill.

I have an eleven year old that I feel makes the biggest messes. She is just sooo dang careless and doesn't pay attention. I get sooooo darn tired of yelling at her and helping her clean up her little messes. Hugs to you sweetie.

I think one of the popular shared pictures on Facebook recently has been the one that says "Cleaning a house with children living in it is like brushing your teeth while eating Oreos".

Be glad you were there to know it happened vs finding out later when its dried and then continue to find it for days after. I am forever finding hidden & caked on splooshes in the fridge from dad.

I agree, maybe try changing your container for your sweet tea? Something with a lid?

One of my guys dropped a huge ketchup bottle right in front of the fridge, with the door open... Actually, he did that twice. The first time, it wasn't too bad of a mess. The second time, I swear that we were still finding ketchup splotches two weeks after we cleaned it all up.

I'm sorry- I've been there, done that. One of my boys decided to see what would happen if he tossed an open container of cocoa powder in the air. That took nearly forever to clean up.

I've kept this picture for years to remind myself why I never baked cookies at Christmas time when my kids were little.
