Default Do you ever feel like there is just soooo much to do, and you never get it done?

I couldn't count all the things that need to be done around here. We are so behind on the maintainence of this house that is overwhelming. Each time we start doing something, there is always something else to pop up. Anyone else ever feel overwhelmed and discouraged? Any advice?

I don't have any advice because I'm also overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done.

There's a ton of things I want done BEFORE I have the baby.
We have Jackson's 'new' room done, but he's still sleeping in the crib so I haven't moved his clothes out of his 'old' room which will be the babys room....we need to lay flooring down in the hallway from the front door to the kitchen. There's trim to be put up,a deck to be built, and I'm sure many other things.
I get so stressed somedays thinking about everything that NEEDS to be done. I'm very impatient and want things to be done last week.

    Well...there's my vent lol

Yes, I feel this way. If you get one project done, then 2 more turn up. It seems like you NEVER get ahead of the game. So i decide to take one day at a time, & do what I can. It's not like those projects are going anywhere & it will still be there tomorrow waiting.

    Oh definitaly

Just yesterday we finally got a toothbrush holder like I wanted (one where they hang) The thing that makes it easy is it SUCTIONS onto our mirror(we'll see how long it stays though)...PLUS it killed two projects at once, the holder now serves as a handle for the sliding mirror! No more greasy handprints on the mirrors!!

Some things I can put off ...and some things just bug me more so I try to work on those first..but mainly I try to not think of everything that needs to be done, but just a few projects at a time so I don't get too stressed out.

Its not even the projects that overwhelm me, it's stuff like laundry, dusting, vaccumming and just general cleaning. My room get bad during the week, I just come in from work, drop off what ever junk Im not taking with me to school and I'm off again. There is never enough time in a day to do just the necessary stuff. My computer desk was so bad this morning I couldn't find a pen!!! It's clean for the moment...moment I said!!! Oh well tomorrow is another day. Sorry for rambling, my dh and kids just tune this subject out!

Dh and I finally tackled the piles of clean laundry and we are actually done! It feels good to get these things done but of course tomorrow I'll be working on the DIRTY laundry, it just never ends.

You're right ladies, it doesn't seem to end ever! I think owning a home there is always an improvement project or repair in the works.

Robin, how does the saying go "Don't sweat the small stuff!" I think it is wonderful you are going to college to become a teacher, the laundry, messy desk etc will be there whenever you have time to clean it. You just keep up your good grades!

I know what you mean Robin. The everyday things overwhelm me too. It just seems that my to do list gets longer and longer.

I'm home all day and can't keep my house cleaned up. As soon as everyone comes home, it's a disaster again. The only time it's relatively clean is when I'm here by myself.

You're not alone--I always feel this way, and the more that needs to get done, the less I seem to do!

The work here is never ending. I see no pot of gold at the end of this rainbow. I wish there was a solution to it all. During the week, I have learned not to sweat the small things since we have little time for each other. I focus more on the house on the weekends. Family first!

I sometimes feel like this as well, but My solution is my control journal, yes... I love flylady! I have a daily to do list and any projects that need to be done or I would like to do go on the brainstorming section of my list. I then check my schedule and try and fit them in. Life by itself when things are going well is overwhelming! Remember baby steps!

I feel this way pretty regularly, now that the baby is crawling. Part of the problem for me is that I can't say NO, and I wind up with too many extra things to do on top of taking care of our home and family. I just this week decided not to let it stress me out.....I am one woman, I'll do what I can, and the rest will be delegated or will wait until I can get to it.

I feel that way this morning. I've been up since 6 am and still so much to do! I have Magazines all over the livingroom, (we never use the livingroom) For a project DS was doing. Kitchen needs to be cleared, Baths need scrubbing, I have Freezer Cooking to do. It's always a million and one things to do. It'll get better though For this you can be sure!
