I Need a Swift Kick in the Pants...
...or just some helpful suggestions from you guys (which would probably be a bit easier on my bottom!)
So, my summer job has ended, and I have three weeks until school starts. I really, really, REALLY need to get the house in order (purged of old stuff that we don't need, cleaned, re-organized, etc.) I need to simplify things around here, because once school starts again, I know that by the time I go from work to my second job, then pick up dd, start dinner, and eat, I will totally crash from the schedule and from just being pregnant-tired. And, here, like a gift from heaven, I have three full weeks where I could really get this place together. And yet...no motivation whatsoever. I DID finally unpack from vacation, but yesterday I sat in the recliner and watched about 4 or 5 episodes of the old NBC show, "The Profiler" that my Dad bought me the first season for. (Loved that show.) I'm just tired and don't want to do the work, but it has to get done.
So, what I'm asking is for either a butt-kicking (gently please) or some suggestions as to how you all motivate yourself when you have things that you don't want to do. Let me also say, that this is totally unlike me. Part of me just sees this as the last true vacation I'll probably ever have again before we have 2 kids and I want to relax. Part of me feels like I deserve a little break. I work my *** off all the time and this feels nice. However, the biggest part of my, (not my belly), feels like if I don't get a move on now, it's gonna snowball out of control. Let me also clarify that for most people's standards, it's really not in that bad of shape. There are some hot spots and all of the closets need to be gone through, but in general, it's not too bad. But, you can still understand where I'm coming from. So, help!

You are pregnant and tired... don't make yourself feel guilty, too! I'll second Lori's comment... work in short intervals if you absolutely feel you have to. But I'd also take a large part of these weeks to relax-- the cleaning will always be there if you look hard enough, but this last chance of time and relaxation won't be available for long-- take advantage!

Yes, what they said!!!!
I remember having a toddler and being pregnant with my twins. I was a teacher too and would come home bone tired and fall asleep on the loveseat while reading a book to my then 1 year old. I found that doing short 15 -20 minute cleaning intervals was the only way I could get anything done. I'd say take the time that you need to rest now because once school starts, you won't have that luxury anymore. Make good use of your crockpot for meals or batch cook things ahead of time so you can just pop dinner in the microwave or oven when you get home. I made lots of meatloaf muffins (just make your meatloaf and cook in muffin pans) then froze them. It was really easy to just take out enough of those "muffins" for dinner.

These ladies have good advice! All I can add is don't overdo it and in between those short intervals of cleaning, check in here and we will be cheering you on. Go, Amy, Go!!! You can do it!!!

Ditto!!
I'm not preggers
- but when it comes to procrastination, I am the queen mother of all stallers! I always have my handy-dandy timer on me and do it in bite-size (ie - managable) chunks....I'll tackle one spot at a time - usually a hall closet or something small to get me going & motivated...I'm so charged up by the progress I've made when I'm done that I gladly move right along to another closet, drawer, or whatever...
Most importantly - stop stressing yourself out - or I'll kick you square in your pants for that!! Baby steps dearie....then
!!
