How long do you spend cleaning/picking up every day?
I feel like my house is never clean, and if I wanted it to be, I would have no time for anything else.
How long do you spend each day doing general pick up and cleaning?

About an hour each day. My Dd is grounded for the next 2 days so it will be even less today and tomorrow.

Chelle, all I do is pick up. There is no time for deep cleaning. DH says the house is picked up, but not clean. All I do is clean up socks, shoes, school stuff, toys, etc., etc., it never ends....

I did the first post for the frustration of it all. In my home we are talking young adults & adults. I've tried to train my bunch over the years to pick up after themselves but still there is the sink to clean, things to pick up, stuff to put away. Oh the toilet paper to put on the roll (how come it is such a hard concept to deal with?).
I know I'm not alone & that helps ease the pain...My kids, they'll be asking themselves the same questions in a few years.
TEE HEE!!

I try to at least take 15 min and hit the basics each day. (pick up, straighten up, dishes, etc) The deep cleaning doesn't get done nearly as often as I would like.

I saw the title of your post but I had my cursor over the forum and for some reason I read the forum as depression LMAO - I think you should move it to there it's much more appropreate
Anyway, I'm thinking of throwing the towel in here and letting them all rot! They must LOVE the mess anyway, so why fight them?
I just tidied my SOFA of all things!
As it's the only empty horizontal place in the house people have starting using it for letters, books, biscuits!
and anything else that fits! And then (get this) they sit on the FLOOR!!!!!!!!
So I emptied it all off and DH came in from the garden ('helping' me) He'd bought in the washing and 'Oh' an empty sofa - how handy!
Ok I'll shut up now LOL - Did you want to know all that? LOL

Every time she'd find a minute
That's the time that they begin it
Cinderelly, Cinderelly
Cinderella!
Cinderelly, Cinderelly
Night and day it's Cinderelly
Make the fire, fix the breakfast
Wash the dishes, do the mopping
And the sweeping and the dusting
They always keep her hopping
She goes around in circles
Till she's very, very dizzy
Still they holler
Keep a-busy Cinderelly

My school room gets messy during the day. So that room is endless. I have them trained to keep their rooms clean. I do about 3 5mins cleanings in the living room and clean it before I go up to bed about 20mins. I clean the kitchen before bed about 20 mins and throughout the day about 15 mins.
