decluttering and organizing
ugh I am working on the playroom. We bought a cabinet to lock up art items and toys with tiny pieces etc.
I still had some boxes of toys that were unpacked from our move.
I'm organzing and tossing the ridiculous toys out. I have already spent quite a bit of time and I am only about 1/4 done.
I'm creating labels and laminating them, so the kids know where everything belongs and I am grouping similar toys into bins.
I got a stuffed animal hammock to stick some plush up and hanging vs. hanging around taking up shelf space.
All I can say, is that there are way too many toys and this is a larger job than I thought.
I had toys just tossed into totes and not only were they not organized, but Zachary didn't even know what toys he had in there.
I desperately want to teach the children responsibility. Zachary likes to help clean and now will have an opportunity to learn how to put his things where they belong.
I decided it would be a good time to start a little chore chart too.If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. WTG Sara, that room will look great when your finished.
Isn't it interesting how many toys the kids accumulate over a few years. I remember doing it the first time in our kids rooms and I was amazed at what they had and what they no longer even looked at, never mind played with.

I bet the children will enjoy the "new" organized playroom. It is amazing what children accumulate over time.

Sounds like you're off to a good start. Love the laminated labels! A place for everything and everything in its place.
Bins are a mom's best friend ... no matter how old the kids are! LOL
It's good training for children. Keep up the good work!

Good luck! It sounds like your playroom will be so nice and organized when you're done. I'm still working on getting myself that organized, LOL... I've gotta get moving before DD is old enough to pick up our disorganized habits!
