Using Small Blocks of Time
I am currently re-reading Organizing Plain and Simple by Donna Smalling and I came across this tip which I am hoping to really live by. I know that I am certainly guilty of complaining that there is not enough time in the day. Using this method, I'm sure I can get a lot more accomplished. I'm sure I spend 10 minutes complaining alone!
"Use small blocks of time to accomplish tasks rather than waiting for large amounts of uninterrupted time to take care of things. Consider what can be accomplished in ten minutes. You can organize a drawer, clean out your wallet, write a note, or read a story to your child. In five minutes, you can make a few phone calls, sort your mail, or empty the dishwasher. In one minute, you can review your to-do-list, make your bed, or stop and smell the roses."My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

This is how I clean. It works for me. I don't think I could clean for large blocks of time daily and not begin to resent housework.

Amy, I do the exact same thing. I go in 15 minute intervals. Its great and works for me. I then take a 15 minute break as well.

This is a great tip for people like me who are paralyzed looking at huge projects. I can work for 15 minutes at a task without being overwhelmed and know that it is ok to stop after 15 minutes if I choose to.

I do 30 minutes at a time, mainly because I get tired so easy, but it helps.

Me too. It's all in tackling things in smaller intervals. Sometimes it's hard for me to get up to do just 15 min thoughOriginally posted by homesteadmamma

Sounds like a great plan, I will try this.... always before I had ds I would spend a whole day and get everything done....that is why my house is in shambles now...lol.... I need to just do 15-20 intervals during the day....maybe I can finally get everything done....
