Default Not accumulating more clutter while you're decluttering

I can totally see where this could easily happen, and I'm sure it's happened to me on occasion! You get so involved with decluttering the past that you forget to make sure that the present doesn't start piling up on you!

"While you're tackling the months and years of accumulated stuff, try to stay current with today's stuff. Open, sort, and file mail daily. Hang up your clothes when you take them off. Clean up the kitchen every night after dinner. And for every new thing you bring in the front door, send five items packing out the back door until you get your belongings down to a more manageable level."

This is what I do I'm working hard now on cleaning up clothes on my floor asap, the kitchen is a bit harder to tackle since it just isn't as fun as putting clothes away ...

we just got a TON of toys from the inlaws, so now I'm going to go through her toys and she what she can part with. I always get stressed out when I declutter because it's so hard to decide what stays and what goes

We're doing pretty good keeping the house clean, well, atleast liveable.

I'm trying to sell stuff on ebay to get rid of clutter and now I have a person giving me lots of stuff to try and sell. It is free or very low price so I can't seem to resist the urge to accept. Now I see more stuff than I started with!

So true Amy, thanks for sharing~! It only takes an extra few minutes to put your coat away, put laundry away where it belongs, dishes away....and it looks SO much better too!

My problem is the opposite - I tend to declutter *too* much! I'll toss everything! We'd be down to beanbag chairs and a skillet if I were left to my own devices!!

I am trying to declutter, i need to get back into it again. I have been avoiding going through the kids clothes. (LOL, maybe I don't want to admit that the kids are growing up...and out of their clothes)

I'm building up to a big session but it usually happens when I look up and see build up starting to happen in spite of small daily dejunkings.
