    Default Another Type of Clutter

Here's another category of clutter and solutions for dealing with it from Lose 200 lbs. This Weekend: It's Time to Declutter Your Life by Don Aslett.

"On Top of Stuff Clutter" (Stuff that is on top of counters, dressers, chests of drawers, tables, refigerators, work benches, night tables, end tables, desks, window ledges, bookcases, and credenzas.)

"Keys, change, pills, coins, clothing, gloves, wallets, cufflinks, jewelry, books, watches, pens, cards, instructions to things, junk mail, bills, catalogs, newspapers, magazines, hankies, consmetics, drugs, grooming aids, tools, finished or unfinished, things on their way somewhere."

"Putting things on a top overnight, or while you're actually using the area is great - you have a place to put something and you put it there. The sin here is not in using the top, but leaving the mess behind when you're done. When you clear your project out, clear it ALL out. It only takes a few seconds to trasnfer things to a drawer, cupboard, box, or compartment right under, over, or beside the top area, so you can keep a clean, clear tiop. Hanging tools and other things right over the use area is even handier than heaping them on top!"

"Tops that are easy to clean and can be used for whatever they need to be used for. Uncluttered tops that reduce anxieties and improve aesthetics is the goal."
