Smile Stumbled on a cleaning tip

I realised when wiping down my w/d the other day that i had a good idea.

I had two rags. I started my washer as usual, and filled it with clothes. As it was filling i wet a rag and used it to wipe down my washer and dryer. then as the washer was done filling I threw it in the washer and washed it as usual. It went into the dryer with the rest of the load. Then the second rag I did the same thing with with the next load. Now I always have a rag clean, dry and ready to wipe down my detergent bottles, boxes, w/d, shelf and so on. Plus having a wet rag to clean the grooves in the washer lid helps get the grime out, when done, drop in the washer and wash with the rest of the laundry!

You betcha! 2 for the price of one so to speak. btw I use my dark towels or anything dark like dh's work jeans, haul them out after the machine starts, and damp mop the laundry floor then toss back in. If you do it often enough, this won't choke up the load with grime but you do need to vacuum down to "bedrock" first before beginning this little routine.
